I don’t know how knowledgeable some of you are here, but tympanist Everett Firth was the greatest tympanist in the world and no one will ever replace him. The orchestra referred to him as the clock. In the hundreds of performances with the Boston symphony I attended, I never heard him miss a beat by a nano second one time. He had the perfect physique and technique. He was a very talented musician and businessman and founder the Vic Firth company that makes drumsticks.
