Some people see the today you will be with me in paradise as Jesus saying he’s telling them that today, but that it happens later. As in “I tell you today, you will be with me in paradise” - because the original text didn’t have punctuation. It seems like a bit of a stretch to me, but there are other scriptures that seem to indicate a sleep period prior to the judgement. And paradise can’t be the same as eternal heaven because the judgement has not occurred yet so nobody is there now

@@riggthompson2648 Despite the long shadow of grief and sorrow that looms over Columbine High School; the families of the thirteen lives lost that day are all doing their best to cope. Some survivors have turned their pain into purpose; for example, Kacey Johnson (née Reugsegger) is an advocate for bone and tissue donation. There are some tales from the Columbine High School tragedy that can give some people a reason to smile and believe in the good of humanity. Firstly; Frank DeAngelis stayed on as the principal of Columbine High School until the last group of students who had been in Preschool at the time of the shooting had graduated. A small group of former students have returned to the school as teachers; their names are Katie Tennessen, Mandy Cooke, Alise Steiner, Noelle Sudano, Chris Welsh, Brett O'Neill, and Zach Martin. Though the biggest surprise is that Rachel Scott's mother Beth Nimmo not only forgave but also met Dylan's mother Sue Klebold. In an interview with Hoda Kotb for the "Today" show on NBC; Beth explained that forgiveness isn't saying that it was okay that this happened, but forgiveness is instead giving yourself permission not to make this tragedy your life sentence. Before she met her; Beth said that she asked God what she was supposed to say to Sue, and God told her that she should ask Sue about who Dylan was before April the 20th of 1999. When Beth asked this question; she said that tears began rolling down Sue's cheeks because no one had ever asked her such a question.

According to survivors and the FBI investigation, this woman and these victims were sadly exploited. This song and the books that followed tell a reimagined version of the story that fits their narrative, but it's not what actually happened. Surviving victims claim to have heard the shooters ask the "famous question" one time to one person, Val Schnurr, who said yes - and survived the shooting. The other victims were mocked with comments like "peekaboo" or "found you." In the aftermath, storylines blurred together and certain people claimed they asked that question to every student and ran with the martyrdom story of this one victim. It was a horrific event with a tragic outcome and truly heartbreaking, but people need to start telling the true story and not perpetuate these false narratives.

I heard M.W. Smith on an interview talking about how he first met Cassie's parents, how he wanted to be the strong support for them. Then, when he got there, he said he just bawled like a baby and they had to console him. But then, he told them this beautiful story how he came to have this interlude with bagpipes and wanted to know how they felt. When her mother said it was Cassie's favorite instrument, it was really a powerful moment. Thank you, Michael W. Smith, for blessing us with a song that gives us a chance to strengthen our faith as well as to pray for those who lost loved ones. God bless you.

For those who have watched this video who have not been saved, I have good news for you. You can start a relationship with God and then know that you have Heaven to look forward to someday. It starts with repentance. You tell God that you are sorry for your sin and mean it. Then you ask God to live in you. You have a time where you are then forgiven and then you begin to know God. Nobody is perfect getting informed that you have sin for Jesus to cleanse is not a reason to feel singled out.

It's written very well, it conveighs a message, an idea that even though I don't subscribe to it, over a billion people do. This is your time, this is your dance Live every moment, leave nothing to chance Swim in the sea, drink of the deep Follow the mercy and hear yourself praying Won't you save me? Won't you save me? This is your time, this is your dance Live every moment, leave nothing to chance Swim in the sea, drink of the deep Embrace the mystery of all you can be This is your time, this is your dance Live every moment, leave nothing to chance Swim in the sea, drink of the deep Embrace the mystery of all you can be This is your time Won't you save me? Michael Withaker Smith is simply the best gospel singer all over the world. He sings with his soul. Brazil loves you, Smith.

Just recently, Michael held a concert in my town, Ottumwa, and he sang this song as well as told us the story. By the end, when he talked about the bagpipes, i was ready to turn my eyes into waterfalls. It's such a great inspiration.

Love the song, and love Cassie Bernall. Her struggle with religion mirrored my own. I could only hope of having the courage to say yes if a gun was pointed at me and was asked "Do you believe in God?"

I know this comment is 2 years old, But She didn't say 'Yes,' Val did. She was praying, She never said 'Yes.'

+BTS TRASH How do you know Cassie would not have said if she had been asked? The truth is that she was never asked that question. All Eric said before he shot Cassie was, "Peek-a-boo!" You can't go bashing people over an action they did not have the opportunity to take.
@antoniosupremacy61256 жыл бұрын
DJCandyManMike I was trying to clarify and help them not be confused, So please do not assume I was 'bashing' someone over it. I know Eric said 'Peek-a-boo!' To her, but it was stated she was also praying. So please Stop assuming things.
@ThunderFist19786 жыл бұрын
+BTS TRASH By not pointing out that Cassie was never asked the question that Rachel was asked, and by simply saying that she did not say yes and simply prayed during the ordeal, you were implying that she was asked that question and did not answer it as Rachel had, which does look like bashing. If I had been in your place, I would have worded it like this: "The truth is, Cassie's story did not end the way Michael W. Smith, and even her parents, were led to believe it did. Cassie's best friend, who was under the table with her, has testified that Cassie was never asked whether she believed in God, and that Eric Harris simply said, 'Peek-a-boo!' before pulling the trigger. Cassie's friend also said that Cassie was praying while the ordeal was going on, so her faith was evident, but she was never asked that question that many believed she was asked, and that she responded to with a yes." Do you see the difference between that and the way you worded it?

Michael told his experience of this incident at a concert I attended on 9/23/12. Then he sang the song, just like 9-11, it will never be forgotten. Somber and tearful, this man stands strong in his belief and faith in God. He gives so much to others. What an honor to be in the presence of someone who will forever pay homage to this beautiful child that was lost in such a tragedy as this. We should all walk with God as Michael does. RIP Cassie, so true is gone, but never forgotten.

It's amazing how people who weren't even there say that she was never asked that. Some people will do anything to bash christians even use this to do it. Trolls have nothing better to do which is disturbing they would sink low enough to use this in such a way. I only pray that if I was faced with a similar situation I would have the same strength she did. God bless her and she's more of an inspiration to more people that we can ever know.

In these times, Christians (myself included) really need to prepare to be able to answer the question...to give a reason for the Hope Who is in them.

Michael was so moved by the events of Columbine in April 1999 he wrote this song in a day. It was about a teenage martyr for Christ, it was Cassie's story. This is the anthem for those who have paid the ultimate price to follow their Lord and Savior.

My pastor sermon today was about there is 3 types of eyes. 1)seeing through our physical eyes, 2nd eyes of heart , 3rd eyes of our soul. Most of us rely our eyes on 1 and 2.God allows hardship for better blessing so, don't harm our body in smoke, alcohol, drugs and suicide because God truly will protect us. He allows hardship so we can see god through our soul that he will never leave us if we only have faith. I truly realized that he truly exist because he helped me see what is unbelievable

Rest in peace, Cassie. An angel on earth. Now home in heaven. Maybe it's my Celtic side, or it's the beauty of the song, but the bagpipes in here always leave me in tears. Thank you, Michael W. Smith, for this beautiful song.

Its been years since this song first came out, but for some reason I was thinking about it the other day and it made me cry. I thought, as a christian, I don't want to live my life so that her's and other peoples lives that were taken because of their faith was not in vain.
