The media is really weird sometimes. We dont have to wrap our heads around anything when it comes to OJ. You know who does though. OJ's kids and family, Ron's family and Nicole's family too. Its funny when media tries to act so effected by this. Its the family of the victims who has to unpack all of this and I think people should remember that. The only question fans need to ask themselves is how important is it to you that a man was once good at playing football?

It was definitely polarizing. But as a blk broadcast journalist on the East Coast at the time, part of me had trouble understanding how other blk folks could have this blind loyalty to OJ Simpson when he didn't give a d@mn about blk folks. OJ used to always say that he wasn't blk. And after he eventually surrendered to authorities at his Brentwood home, he was surprised at the crowds of people that gathered in the neighborhood. As he was riding with police on the street outside his home, he asked police what "all these ni993rs" were doing in Brentwood. That's ni993rs with a hard R.

To the day my dad passed away he said Jim Brown and OJ were the greatest running backs ever. OJ ran for 2000 yards with a 14 game schedule on a horrible team where the opposition knew he was going to run every play and they still couldn't stop him. My dad had Walter Payton 3rd on his list and he loved Larry Csonka as a fullback and thought James Devlin blocking for Brady is one of the most underrated Patriots ever.

Thank you Michael Wilbon for being a breathing library when it comes to the history and significance of our black stars throughout the years! This was breath of fresh air compared to all of the other news media focusing on the trail that he was acquitted off. It was enough that he was black balled after the trial, they continue to smear his image even after death. REST IN PEACE to the JUICE!

O.J. Simpson's doctor confirmed the possibility of CTE on why he self-destructed and ruined his life.... Simpson's autopsy will be interesting and I bet he suffered from CTE. After New England Patriots tight end (Aaron Hernandez) also became self-destructive (and a killer) and after his death, researchers at Boston University studied Hernandez's brain and diagnosed him with chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), stage 3 of 4, and described Hernandez's brain as a classic case of the pathology. CTE is caused by repeated head trauma. Hernandez had two confirmed concussions since he began playing football at eight years old, but the Boston Globe believed "he undoubtedly took other punishing hits to the head that were never recorded." CTE is associated with cumulative injuries. In a phone conversation recorded in prison, Hernandez said "I'm like a grandpa. All my bones are so sore."
