I have the 45rpm of Ella and Louis and skipped the new 33 rpm based on your review. I received my Ella and Louis Again and listened to it on Friday night. It’s a wonderful recording and didn’t know the 45 rpm was only 1/2 this release. Keep up the good work and happy listening!

What a time we live in. These are beautiful releases. You can listen to Ella and Louis on transistor radio, and they sound good. So if you would rather prioritise you money for other things like life, deep dive into Ella, Louis as well as Ella and Louis on Spotify. I have some originals, picked up from a bin for nothing, and they sound marvellous. I would like to see the prices coming down... music for music lovers... all the collectable things for collectors.

You can have all three Ella & Louis records for less than 50.00 Euro all analogue and very good sound in this 3 x LPs Box from 1979, France: Verve Records - 2615 034 .

I received my 33 1/3rd version today. Thanks to watching you Michael open the top of the plastic wrapping I finally realized there was a serrated edge. I learned something new after ordering so many AS LPs. Enjoy a good laugh on me😂😂😂

I have the Ella and Lois Again on the Verve AS series, I also have a perfect 1st UK press (1957 paid £2.54) so an interesting comparison, they are very close the original is a little is a bit more dynamic, crisper, vibrant and well emotional, The reissue is however very very good. I also have the 1st UK presses of Ella sings the Gershwin song book - 4 separate records with the stunning Bernard Buffet covers and the music and sound is amazing.

This title has been very tough to find in good shape (Ella and Louis Again, 2LP) and MGM was not good at using decent vinyl compound. Been waiting for this one to come out and it's a gorgeous reissue. Very worth it because the cost of originals are way high right now and don't sound nearly as good.

HMV CLP 1146 and 1147 Mono I do have....must be heard with no technology , no UHQR, no MOFI...to get the real 1957 feeling

This is perfect timing for me personally. I love those two albums. Even on compressed Spotify, they sound amazing, so I could only imagine how the record sounds….. my dilemma is do I get them both in 33 or wait and hope they re-release the 45? I called them last week and they had no idea if the 45 rpm will be back in stock. Since you are buddy buddy with Chad, do you think he will be doing the 45 rpm anytime soon? Also, how much would I be giving up if I just go with the 33 rpm? Love yo hear your feedback on this Thanks for your time John

IMHO, get them both in 33 while you can....I can't speak for Chad and Acoustic Sounds; but if the Bill Evans Trio '65 reissue is any indicator, in that case the reissue DESTROYS THE ORIGINAL.....Chad will have some definitive pressings in this Verve series. Disclaimer: I gave Ella and Louis on 33 from Speakers Corner reissue.....AND I ORDERED THIS VERVE REISSUE of Ella and Louis Again to pair with it

Question: The challenge of this recording for anyone doing a reissue has always been overly strong sibilance, which is very pronounced on the vocals to the point where it can get annoying. (I have UK pressings, CD reissues, and the old MoFi) Have they managed to tame this?

The only (annoying) problem I have with the acoustic sound series is the small spindle hole.
