Let's goo! Usui was one of my favourite characters in Rurouni Ken! I'm so freaking stoked! This is so damn awesome! That letter to Misao took me out as a kid too and now again as an adult😂😂😂. Love you so much Michael Angelo! Seriously, you're the best and much love to you. Much love to mama too. Rurouni Kenshin changed and influenced my life for the better and will always be the best anime ever. I always dreamed of being a voice actor and voicing Ms.Yumi lol. If only.

I think Cho was just trying to sneak out of jail with Saito and Sanosuke while they were distracted talking to each other but Sanosuke noticed it, lol. It’s just a small comedy bit. Cho will remain in jail for a while.

Great episode, also I think Megumi's arrival was a good change (she arrives later in the manga) given that it gives more realism at the things happening at the end of the arc. Keep in mind that vow of Sanosuke 😅

Cho is so funny man, and it won't be the last we will see of him (in what capacity I can't tell you hahaha). I was buzzing when I saw Megumi. That's A BIG CHANGE from the OG and the Manga, and I'm all for it: Lord Voldemort did say he wanted to do some changes in the story, and I guess he wasn't joking around. Saito looking badass as always. I still have gripes when they mention 2 of the Juppongatana as the strongest of the group, totally forgetting about certain big boy that shows up later (if you know, you know), I think he does deserves a spot among the strongest. Next episode (or couple episodes, depends how they manage it) will be amazing, breath taking, deep, and will give us some great moments. Mild spoiler but that will be the first and maybe only time Kenshin will feel totally afraid, of what, can't tell you)

Here we are…and it seems the pacing has changed in this series. Need to rewatch 96 anime Kyōto arc to refamiliar myself with those arc, but this episode was comparable to the final part of episode 42 with Misao declaring herself okrashira and the first part of episode 44 where Sanosuke finally ends up in Kyōto and the whole scene in jail. Episode 43 from the 96 anime will be covered next week and depending on how things are Kenshin’s training will conclude soon. Maybe the episode after it too. And we are officially introduced to Usui, one of the most dangerous members of the Juppongata despite his blindness. His title the Blind Sword is mainly from his association with the Juppongata. A former hitokiri like Shishio, Jinne, and Kenshin until he was rendered blind by the former. Heck the author himself states he based Usui on Mercenary Tao from the original Dragon Ball. Rendering him blind has only made Usui stronger and is pretty much on Shishio’s side to kill and was promised chances to kill the man himself who is more or less amused by the whole situation. As for the tortoise shell on his back, with his weapon being more or less a spear he fights using a rocin (spear) and tanbei (tortoise shell shaped shield). An actual style of fighting that originated in Okinawa, a fighting style foreign to most of his opponents. Now Saito is gunning for him for killing his men. Finally there is Megumi showing up…she didn’t appear in this arc again until after the final battle. So this is a pleasant surprise for sure and can’t wait to see the direction this goes in.

Also, in Kyoto, the Shinsengumi are still seen as heroes. You can buy TON of merch about them (I own a blue Haori of the group and a replica of the First Division Captain's katana, Okita Soji) and there are festivals about them. You can also see the Ikedaya Incident memorial (The inn was destroyed and replaced by a pachinko XD).
