This is an active lifestyle community. The majority of us are at Pickleball, or golf by 7 am especially in the summer months. Water volleyball, beach tennis, platform tennis, etc. We are fine ending our days at the squares at 9pm. FYI…certain restaurant/bars stay open til 11pm or midnight for the night owls. Anyone of any age can stay at the Waterfront Hotel. Also, there are a lot of younger people (47-60) living in villages south of 44 (the newest section). We retired here a year ago at 60 to start living the lifestyle. 😊

I visited there and stayed there many times as I have an aunt that lived there until she passed. It's very nice but I would never live there, although I respect people that like that lifestyle. It always seemed too artificial to me, also the fact that people are in advanced age, means some start to have health struggles and some die. I understand it's the natural stage of life, but it seemed disproportional. Much better in my opinion to live in a place with people of all ages (kids being born, middle aged couples and yes, some older folks somewhat equally distributed in a population). Just my opinion, but consider this if you are thinking in making one of these communities your permanent residence.

Nice video Michael...There are numerous YT sites about the Villages I'm sure you know. The houses run from $250K to over a Million. The only thing I don't like about them is the lack of privacy. No fences & the houses are very close to one another. Also, no basements but I think that is a Florida thing. In Ca. most houses have fenced in backyards, but in the East & Midwest they don't. Not sure why. Also, you failed to mention how much your room was. Just curious.The room looked like a 4 star hotel. I'll have to visit one day. Also, how far from the Beach? I think over an hour drive. What is the nearest Beach?...Thanks
@MichaelBordenaro3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Dan! Yes the yards are on the small side and the no basement is a FL thing. I cant remember how much the room was but I don't think it was over $120 for the night, so very good price for the spot. Far from the beach though, I'll talk about that more in the next one. Its about 1 hour 45 mins to the nearest beach which is either Daytona on the east coast or Clearwater on the west so too far for my taste

@@MichaelBordenaro Too far from the Beach for my taste. I'm only a 10 to 15 min. drive to many beaches in SF...I can't imagine living anywhere else. Cold water but no crowds usually & no hurricanes or TStorms to worry about. No wild fires in the City (knock on wood)...only a quake once in a while. Weather the same most of the year. Temps between 45 & 80 F year round. Only So. Ca. has it better, but 10 million more people. Bought my house 38 yrs ago. Looks like I'm here forever. I don't mind one bit. I luv it here! If I was to sell I would consider Florida, but I would want to be near the Beach. North of Boca R on the East coast or Clearwater/Tampa on the west. But the heat/humidity would be hard for me. Any nearby gambling casinos?...Farmer's Market?...Food Trucks?...Good Mexican Food?...I always thought Florida restaurants were too pricey & the food not as good as Ca. The Waterfront Inn doesn’t allow you to have pets in the room unless it is a service dog. The Comfort Suites near the Spanish Springs town square allows dogs. When I stayed there in 2020 their pet fee was 50 dollars. Beware it’s 50 dollars total for up to a weeks stay but it’s still 50 dollars even if you just stay one night. The rooms there are very nice and very reasonably priced.

There are more and more young people moving here to start living the lifestyle. We retired here last year at 60. The newer villages south of 44 attract the younger couples because of newer homes and it’s easier to connect in new villages. Most of our neighbors are 47-60 years old.

Wow that place is cool. Watching them dance, they are barely moving! Funny. That man singing sucks, if you are 65 your favorite type of music would be from the 60s and 70s mostly the 70s. Closing everything up at 9pm, I would have to start partying at 12 noon.

Lizzy would make so much money there taking care of dogs Everyone has a dog 🐕 Mostly little ones and they need services for their dogs I live in the Villages and in Daytona Beach Shores When my vacation rental is open Most people are very friendly there and if you lose something it’s usually returned I feel very safe there. I like to walk my dog at the polo grounds and the duck pond and there are bridges and tunnels to get all over the Villages You don’t have to be retired to live there and there is also a rule where some younger people can live there over 30 but no children full time. If you live near the villages the Squares, Playhouses are for everyone Not just Villagers

@@MichaelBordenaro right. I have a PayPal account and use to pay others Or, I am paid via that way, though its confusing for some [ PayPal has me down as a business but if the person can find the option to pay: friends and family then, PayPal takes less a cut]. I just saw to follow your account as member was 2.99 [ or support as, member] and I was just wondering how you set that up between utube and paypal or if you had x amount of subscribers so that became an option to do. And it was or looks like a good way to help support your work... I also not to be cheap, though if I subscribe for awhile, as I would like to move to Florida. Is it easy to unsubscribe. No disrespect intended. I really love following your reports and adventures....got anything for vegans [ vegetarians] like best smoothie bars or really good homemade raw natural places. Thanks for this KZbin on The villages so how was it? I just turned 50 although I don't want to admit to it and my sister is 55 we inherit a house at the Jersey shore and we plan to move to Florida soon because the property taxes are $25,000 this year so we were going to move to Florida for the warm weather and lower property taxes am I too young for The villages? I did love the village video it looks like a clean nice and quiet place and I like that it's quiet because my name is here party till 3:00 a.m. and I can't stand it I like to go to bed around midnight and I like the peace and quiet anyway I don't know what to do a where move to? But I know I have to get out of New Jersey I'm definitely not getting a condo on the ocean because those condos are dangerous especially if there's a fire how you going to get out if there's a fire and you're on the 20th floor? I'm not walking down 20 flights what do you do when the elevator is not working???! And there's a fire how do you get out????!!!??? Suppose you can't walk down those steps I entered my ankle recently and I can't even walk from room to room how would I be able to downstairs from a high-rise condo ???? Even if I was on the 10th floor how would I get out and the buildings coming down I'd be stuck up there and die on the 10th floor with no elevator!!!
