Man, this game was my jam back in the day. Even though I thought some sections were a bit too repetitive, but I enjoyed it for what it was. A game based on the movie. Also, dam Mr Incredible is one thick boi in this game. All and all, good review.

Heavy Iron Studios developed this. And keep in mind, they were developing both this, and "The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie" game at the exact same time, and both games were released in the same month, and a whole month before both movies were released in theaters within two weeks of each other. Yet "The SpongeBob Squarepants Movie" game seems like more effort went into it since Heavy Iron had just finished "Battle for Bikini Bottom" so they already had an existing engine they could work with, whereas "The Incredibles" game had an completely new engine to work with, but only around 11 months to produce.

@@idonthaveanose It was pretty funny. :) Also what's your opinion on "The Incredibles 2"?
@idonthaveanose6 жыл бұрын
Honestly? I quite like it. I actually REALLY enjoy it until about 3/4 of the way through. The final act kinda falls a little flat for me and the very end feels rushed. I know a lot of people have a major issue with the villain but my issue is that the Screenslaver doesn't do a fat lot at the film's climax. I wanted another scene like the one in the apartment in the middle of the movie. But there wasn't another scene that matched that intensity imo. But overall, worth a watch.

who disliked this review?.... I'LL HUNT THEM DOWN AND CUT OFF THEIR NOSE!!! As always, great review. I personally got stuck on the level where Mr. Incredible finally got his family suit. Not by my own hands, but Mr. Incredible got stuck in a wall and then the next go around the game crashed near the end of the level..... I pretty much gave up on it after all that happened. ....I honestly prefer the gameboy Advance game over the console counterpart. The Gameboy Advance game plays like a classic arcade beat them up with a very limited fighting move set. Dash and Violet can fight too, but whenever you play as Frozone he only has a couple quick time event inspired free runner missions. Overall a better experience, but a more repetitive one at that.

Hahaha! To each their own. :P Thank you! I managed to edit this in a week somehow. I didn't sleep much. Trouble is, when I get going on these things, I get addicted to them until they're finished. I actually think there are a few parts of this game that are strangely difficult. I never played the Game Boy game, although I did have the Rise of the Underminer game for GBA. That was... okay, I guess. I actually would have liked a similar game for Incredibles 2 but obviously it was never gonna happen. The closest we have is the Lego Incredibles game.
@RamsTheNameCom6 жыл бұрын
@@idonthaveanose I'm the exact same way with my reviews, but in more of a "George Lucas" kinda way where I finish editing the review and about to upload to youtube.... Then I go, "Wouldn't it be funny if I put a rape joke here for no reason?" (literally just randomly "inserted" a rape joke in the latest review I am currently working on... It somehow works great in context to the review). Yeah, an actual Incredibles 2 game would have been nice though the era of licensed games has pretty much died out or just moved over entirely to Mobile phone games. Also Disney has an infamous past of closing down gaming studios who are associated with them.... (Cough) Epic Mickey, MOST of the developers behind DISNEY INFINITY with some exceptions (Heavy Iron is still in business though only working on Mobile Phone games), and also every game studio under the "DGamer" era (DGamer era included stuff like Tron Legacy, G Force, and Toy Story 3. Also INFAMOUS for their kid friendly version of skype included as a bonus on all their DS ported games).
@idonthaveanose6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it's a shame, I think. I know movie-based games had a reputation for being sub-par, but there were a fair few that really captured the spirit of the movie - this was one of them, I felt. Yeah, it's not perfect, but the environments, music and character voices really elevate it in my opinion. And the gameplay isn't horrendous. I never played the Toy Story 3 game (there's still time) - the most recent PS2 movie game I own is Up, which wasn't too bad either, although I'm aware there's a PS3 version that was likely superior. I think the most recent movie game I own for PS3 is Brave. And I never finished it as it didn't hold my attention (again, there's still time...).

I know you more of a PlayStation guy, but for some reason in the Xbox version of the game you have to sign in to Xbox Live and purchase (or at least download) Battle Mode even though the PS2, GameCube, PC and MAC versions just have you beat Level 10 in order to unlock Battle Mode. That's very weird, is it?

Violet could've had a level where she wants to stay hidden from her crush while getting out of school with her abilities. It wouldn't be based on the movie but it would be the best theme for Violets character. Like Dash's first level.

This game isn't bad necessarily, but it had so much potential. It does a horrible job explaining the movie, like they didn't even put syndrome in this game and he's like the main antagonist. Plus they never even introduced us to the character, and just expect the player to know who he is. Sure they have his clips from the movie but would it hurt to have him in the game and taunt you while he fight omnidroid v9 or v10? That would've been cool.

I have a lot to say about the sequel tbh.
