I always love it when a random Damascus pattern comes out specifically spectacular, when it does its looks rivals more advanced techniques because of how well and evenly it is forge welded.

having had a hammer Damascus knife and having made a knife from forge welded Damascus I will tell you I'll take this material over hammered Damascus any day. I done care how well you do a forge Damascus it will never be as good as this monolithic material.

Other than raising the cost I would like to see them use their logo pivot for at least one of the scale bolts.

I didn't pick up the Lackey initially because I'm not a huge D2 fan. Immediately picked up the Damascus version. It's beautiful and well done. Thin but not uncomfortably so. Optimize for daily carry. (I'm rocking the soft loops.) Great video, Mike. Hope you and the family are doing well. Have a superb holiday.

Hey Mike, I have a question for you. My friend got the original Ferrum Forge Lackey and it wasn't that sharp at all out of the box which was very disappointing!!!! I also saw several other KZbin unboxing videos of the original Ferrum Forge Lackey, and they were also not really that sharp out of the box. I was wondering how sharp was your Damascus Lackey when you first got it? Also, did Elliot sharpen your Damascus Lackey for you or did you get it with a stock edge that was untouched by Elliot?

Like I said in the video first run had some edge issues but these don’t. The edge on mine in the video was the factory edge Elliot did not sharpen it and it was screaming sharp out of the box. I have since sharpened the knife because it did get used before I realized I was going to destroy the pattern on the knife by cutting so much cardboard. So yes there were edge issues on some of them in the previous run that Elliot addressed with we knife company

It’s not a forged Damascus... it’s not hammered together... it’s two different types of stainless steel powder that is deposited in layers to make a pattern when etched.
