Matt Smith is wonderful and so was Cathal Keaney . My question is, why was the music changed ? Without Ronan Hardiman's music, it doesn't have the same emotional feel to the show.

It’s absolutely wonderful I used to be a professional dancer nothing on this level I know it takes a toll on your body but this is a wonderful show!! should absolutely go on forever I’m sorry I never got to see Michael in person I always had a crush on him outstanding man brilliant handsome talented absolutely a gift from God was given to him thank you Michael for sharing your vision with the world and your love of dance God bless all of you and keep you safe

I can't watch these videos now until I've completely read the blurb up top. Edit: I also feel obliged to whine about the original music being way better than the new music. I think that honor would go to Bernadette Flynn, ( the original female lead), and her husband Damien O'Kane, ( one of the other dancers, who went on, to play the 'Lord' at the Epcot Center shows). They have 2 children and they will be incredible dancers if they choose to go that route.

So I may be in the minority but I hate that they changed the music - I prefer the original track. I also am not a fan of the new male lead. Something feels off and he doesn’t feel natural in the role. To me, he seems a little too stiff and not fluid enough, but maybe that will change in time. This is just my opinion but it’s because I’ve watched this from the very beginning so I’m bias of the original.

You are NOT in the minority, I feel the same way. For being a musician himself, I think Michael under-estimated the power that Ronan Hardiman's music had on the show. It was what gave the show it's magic and "spine-tingling" effect. He also changed a lot of the choreography and wardrobes. As a writer I believe that if too much of a story is changed, then it is not the same story. This should have been branded as a sequel to Lord of the Dance'. Matt Smith is a great dancer and his tremendous skills, would have been better appreciated, if the choreography and music had been consistent with the Dublin 1996 show. In some of these newer versions, feel that the lead is spending far too much time acting as a " drill Sargeant" and flirting with the female dancers, rather than leading the dancing. He's trying to be a "showman" and I'm not impressed with that. Just dance...that's what you're there for.
