Thanks for what are doing here! The problem with Aux I/O is that there is drift with picture long form.

Thanks for the video! Hm I already have the Waves NX headtracker. Should I just dump that one and use this one instead? I'm using REAPER and am wondering how the Brewers Audio decoder compares to the EIM one. I'm still working on my binaural audio drama and I'm still unsure which direction to go as far as binaural codecs based on ease of use vs. accuracy when mixing in things like reverb.

You can use the Waves headtracker, but you need to translate the OSC messages. Check out my video about the Dolby Atmos renderer which I published a few weeks ago. There I show how to use the Waves headtracker with OSC.

hey michael , can you tell me the most high resolution binaural decoder you have found? ive been using the sparta compass decoder and havent been able to find anything better!

For Ambisonics the Blue Ripple Sound plugins are generally considered the best. Audio Brewers is my personal favorite.

Can you use the waves nx tracker for this in pro tools? Also could we use “Aux I/O” in protools to pull in the 7.1.4 from the renderer, and then do this same thing so we can monitor the entire mix including “objects”?

You can use the NX head tracker but you would need nxosc and convert the osc messages. I showed how to do that in my video about the Atmos Renderer 5.1 update. If you are working with the renderer it is easier to just use the built in head tracking of the renderer. You could use Aud I/O and do head tracking within ProTools. It’s just not necessary.

@@michaelgwagner OK thanks, If I set it up with the renderer... is there a way to set up the standard Binural, Binural with head tracking, and 2.0 down mixes as outputs?
@michaelgwagner Жыл бұрын
Not in the renderer afaik. For that you would have to use the aux i/o and do the head tracking in Pro Tools.

@@michaelgwagner One last question if you don't mind. If I use the renderer to bounce an mp4 and play it directly on my phone/macbook/apple tv will it us the same renderer as apple music? or would I "Have too" use logic to get access to the apple music renderer? I would be using airpod maxes for playback
@michaelgwagner Жыл бұрын
The Atmos audio will be the same but the binaural render will be different. But you don’t need Logic, just play the mp4 output from the renderer in Apple Music to check how it translates.
