I have a question! Why does steady state assumption only apply to enzymes, not to inorganic catalyst? I understood this that inorganic catalyst has rate-determining step, but enzymes don't. Why do enzymes don't have a slow step? Is it because of the structure of enzymes? It would be really helpful if you could answer me!

Sir, at 18:00, I have proceed in the same way but I took the rate of formation of D as: r=k2[A][C] And applied SSA to [C] for which the rate equation I got is: r=k1[A][B] - k_-1[C]2 - k2[A][C] So when I solved it all along and applied that given condition, I am getting my answer as 4. Can't I take k2[A][C] in the rate equation of formation of [C] ?

Rate of disappearance is given in problem then we can substitute or disappearance is equal to write the given value..plz clarify
@AllBoutChemistry6 жыл бұрын
Rate of Dissapearance is nothing but rate of consumption of reactant. It means you've to put that value alongwith negative sign to make sure that the thing is getting disappeared

@rachuindhurocks94225 жыл бұрын
superb explanation sir. ur teaching is awesome. i have a doubt sir. in dec 2016 question finally why we divide r1by r2. they were not asking about the ratio? then y should divide?
@AllBoutChemistry5 жыл бұрын
Thank you, In that ques it is asked that by how many times it increases, so that means they are asking about the ratio. Understand it in this way that if I somthing is increased 2 times it means it's ratio will be 2:1 So it's better to solve in ratio form and later get answer in how many times it will increase.

Sir what is the use of assumption here which is given in question??? And sir,in loss of c why we have not taken second equation under consideration?
@AllBoutChemistry6 жыл бұрын
You've yourself answered your question. The assumption is given that reverse reaction in first step has higher rate as compared to forward reaction in second step.. So when we've applied steady state approximation we didn't considered second eqn.

Sir, why haven't you included second reaction in the SSA for C in Q.NO.1 ? The given thing that K2[A]
@bedantaupadhyay6724 жыл бұрын
Yes. And the answer comes out to be different from the one in the video.
@ashwinigawane94144 жыл бұрын
Right
@himanigupta32743 жыл бұрын
Even if you apply SSA to second reaction for C, the answer will come same as K2[A] term will be ignored.

@AllBoutChemistry6 жыл бұрын
For ques 34, find conjugate base and their basicity order then reverse it to find pKa value for their conjugate acid. For 38, it will be proton attack on carbonyl then ring expansion from 4 member to 5 member and then ring contraction from 6 member to 5 member and the carbonyl will retain.
