I will sail in any room as long as I get to sail! I agree, I love the verandas the most for the private balcony. However, I’m not opposed to any of the rooms.

We had an inside room on our first cruise ever and had horrible sea sickness. The disconnect from you feeling the motion and not being able to see the motion was a big problem. We have done balcony ever since and will prob never go back! We cruise again in January - in a Grand Suite this time! Can't wait!

I love doing verandah rooms since I like being able to be outside without having to go to the public areas. It’s nice just going onto the verandah after dinner and just feel the wind and hear the waves crashing against the ship. It’s also fun when it’s time to leave and watching all the late arrivals slowly walking up.

My son asked us why we always go with an inside statement. I put it to him this way. Would you like to go on one cruise or do you want to go on two cruises. He decided he much rather go on two cruises.

My first cruise was in a verandah room for a 10 day European cruise with Holland America. It was the best travel experience of my life! We went to Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, and ended at the White Cliffs of Dover. Very luxurious line, amazing food. Highly recommend cruising in Europe! We used the verandah a lot, often ordering a light breakfast for room service and eating it on the balcony while in port.

We only had 1 balcony and that was our Alaska cruise in 2007 our next cruise in Sept 29 TH 2022 is a Canada & New England. Fall foliage cruise we have a balcony for us it depends on the cruise and scenery. Have a Magical Day John

Usually do verandah, but twice did inside. Both of those cruises, we spent almost no time in the room, other than to sleep.

Our preference is always a balcony stateroom. That being said, regardless of the destination, cost is the ultimate deciding factor. We've found that when we're in an inside stateroom we tend to be out of our room more. When we have a balcony stateroom, we enjoy it fully. After many Caribbean cruises under our belts, we are doing our first Alaskan cruise in 2023. We opted for an inside stateroom. The cost difference between an inside and ocean view was $300/pp. A balcony simply wasn't in our budget. The $600 savings will be put towards excursions. Everyone's cruise style is different. As long as we're cruising, we're happy.

Another concern especially when my kids were younger was them getting out on the verandah especially at night. I know it's hard to get out for a kid but because I was so nervous we did ocean view.

4days or less, We pick porthole. 5days or more, Verandah for sure. Inside stateroom would have to be a highly discounted price for me to consider. Having natural lighting on the cruise is a big part of the experience for us. 👍 Great topic Michael. Looking forward to your WISH review and experience in the future! 🤙

Another advantage of inside. Some people have told me that they like the total darkness and sleep great in them. Me, I like that natural sunlight to wake me up.

Only been on two cruises but both times got a verandah. Last one was on DCL Fantasy Aft at the very back of the ship and it has a huge verandah! Two chairs and two loungers fit with still a lot of space.

My first two Disney cruises were verandahs. My next one in two weeks is an inside cabin because the cruise is much longer. I also wanted to see what it’s like, especially with a magic porthole. My cruise in Dec is an ocean view, so I’ll have experienced all types.

Veranda for me. I know I’ve said it many times, but I love ordering croissants and coffee from room service to be delivered before anyone is awake and enjoy it on the veranda as we pull into port. 💖

What causes motion sickness? Your brain senses movement from 2 sources, your eyes and your inner ears. When your ears feel motion and your eyes don't see your moving you can feel sick. Being in an inside room can make seasickness worse. If you watch the horizon, another boat or the moon you won't get seasick.
