I absolutely love the Broadway Lion King, especially the songs "He Lives in You" and "Shadowland," two potent additions that I actually think make the Broadway music surpass the original animated movie soundtrack. Those two songs speak to my spiritual and environmentalist soul, so hearing them always makes me cry. These amazing ladies made me cry twice as hard...with ALL the songs! I have no words for such awesomeness. I grew up as a minister's kid, and I had yet to hear any church congregation sing their dry, dusty beliefs with as much true heart and soul as these beautiful women sang the Deeper Truth within the Lion King melodies. I’ve very recently lost two people to gun violence within a 30 day span…this medley started popping up on my recommended videos shortly after.
