The "Another Bad Little Fad..." line in "Jump" was actually a jab at Bel Biv Devoe's boy group ABC (Another Bad Creation). In fact, at the start of the song, they played the very beginning of "Playground" then did the record scratch before cutting their beat on! Memories! RIP to Chris Kelly.

Thanks for putting this together for the legendary group. They were 10 and 11 when they were discovered. The Chrises were just hanging at the mall shopping, they weren't at the Briar looking for Sylk Times Leather. Jermaine approached them because the girls at the mall were following the Chrises around like they were already famous. Kris Kross remained big overseas and still have die hard fans. It wouldn't have hurt to mention their legendary DJ Nabs who's watermark is all over the footage in the video. He performed with Kris Kross on every TV show, tour, music videos, and live performance from the Michael Jackson tour until the last show at The Fox. He probably has all the real stories. 🤔

Kris Kross did relatively well. This idea and narrative that they fizzled out after the first album is inaccurate, and it’s really based on what White audiences consider to be a successful music career. All because they didn’t go high on the charts. The 2nd album they still had a buzz, they introduced Da Brat in that album, and they still had major fanfare. They came out in 1992 and pretty much fizzled out in 1998. They had 3 relatively successful albums. Back in those days artists came out with about 3-4 albums within a 5 year span. That was considered longevity in their career. If the 2nd album was a success, than that’s all that mattered.
@jethromkanda51592 жыл бұрын
relatively well is an understatement, having featured in Michael Jackson's JAM music video is no relative remark.
@6Haunted-Days Жыл бұрын
Yea no. It still mattered if a record flopped they were gonna go....oh your 2nd webt gold? Meh then it doesn't matter that album is a mess. It's ALWAYS BEEN....you're only as good as your last hit.... Still like that, it's how it works....

Quite frankly, I'm only familiar with their #1 cut, 'JUMP'. I don't recall ever hearing any of their other songs, but 'JUMP' was and still is pretty dope, and I'm not ashamed to say, that song is in my MP3 music library and I still bump it once in a while. It's too bad that song isn't longer than 3 minutes and 17 seconds, though. Honestly, that one song and their rhyming flow is 20 times better than 90% of the modern day garbage that people are calling, "Rap".

I believe it when you said Fulton county Atlanta . Fulton county industrial is one of the worst neighborhoods in the world!... it is post-apocalyptic! I've never seen crackheads like I've seen in Fulton industrial ,Fulton county is the sickest Hood ghetto slum in the United States and I'm from Southern California and I've been through every single Hood in the United States except Puerto Rico Hawaii and Alaska and Fulton industrial Fulton county Atlanta Georgia takes number one. it's like being in the movie escape from New York or Total recall Mars. It's the only place I saw a block of strip clubs filled with prostitutes and in front of the strip clubs on the street tons of prostitutes walking around soliciting. There's a truck stop where the prostitutes come out of the bushes and service the truckers there's dirty mattresses thrown all through the bushes and forests around the truck stop. The hotels are huge giant brothels , you get buzzed in through pawn shop style metal doors,with bulletproof glass around the hotel manager , who's usually from India or Middle Eastern, and you have to pay just to see or visit one of the tenants.... once you pay the owner of the hotel , or clerk manager.... you can go upstairs and you pay to see the tenant..... Or buy products from your tenant, everybody works together like one big cracked-out Mafia cops store owners hotel owners club owners truck stop owners truckers pimps hoe's, they're all in on it.... they all make up the crookedest most third world Post apocalyptic slum community of America, Fulton industrial. Everyone in Fulton industrial, seems to be a pimp, whore, stripper , thug, shorty,Hustler,Pyscho or drug dealer, and everybody seems to be on crack ,including people working in the fast food industry and stores ,police officers ,the homeless people, gang members and pushers, truckers and whores and dealers and pimps, the rich the poor the white the black ..... they are All.... on crack. The place has to be seen to be believed there's prostitutes pedaling and drug pushers slanging and cracked out people smoking rocks right outside of six flags, it reminded me of the Rio de Janeiro hardcore favela Getto slums, it was sad, disgraceful, alarming and disheartening to see the United States of America and American men women and children, people from a so-called, first world country ,brought down to that depravity and disgrace...... the only other place in the United States , that's second on my list but just as unreal and unbelievable in terms of ,crack dealing and violence and depravity , prostitution,victimization and abuse and total disregard for human life... is Washington DC, chocolate City, shit ,they smoke and sell crack right in front of the White House (Baltimore and Richmond take # 3.1 & 3.2).
