Thank you so much :) A couple of months ago I realized that the only way to really grow as a singer, exercises aside, is really obsessing with recreating the same exact sound that I hear: for example I noticed that Jack Johnson use some kind of vocal fry in the inset and there's a lot of air going on :) Sometimes is the resonance, sometimes are the vowel modification. All stuff you can then use in your own way, in your own covers. So, yeah, I think a "How to sing like" series would definitely catch a lot of interest and eyeballs. And I loved how you nailed down four fundamental techniques used by Adele ;)

I love singing, I have since I was four years old! Ever since I’ve been seeing people tell me that I sound just like Adele! They say that I’m the little version of Adele. My dream is to be a singer. People say I look and sound like her. But I’m watching this video because I want to practice like her. Use for techniques and exercises. I’m 14, And loved singing! Thank you!

@@5.starrD Hi Danielle and greetings from New York! You don't necessarily need to go to a certain school or take courses to be a great singer/songwriter. It may be the way to go, but everyone's situation is different. I don't know how old you are, but it's never too early or late to start writing songs and singing along to your favorite bands/artists is great too. If you get stuck a long the way, just let me know. I have videos on songwriting and many more on singing. Good luck! -Michael

With the vocal twitch.. Is it whole step or half step, or can it be both? 🤔
@michaelmingoiamusic4 жыл бұрын
Gloria Valentia Hi Gloria. This is a fantastic question! I have been thinking hard about this since you asked it just a few hours ago. I have never and will never try to pretend that I have all the answers. I will always be honest. And that being said, I can honestly say I don’t know for certain if it matters. Tacking on an extra half step and making a whole step vibrato exercise will most likely achieve the same result. I just tested it myself. It was strange to me at first because my voice is so used to doing the half step. I do feel that the vibrato might seem a bit more broad than the half step but overall I think it should be okay. Basically the half step vibrato exercise is to kickstart your instrument into oscillating. Once you reach a certain speed with the oscillations it will sound like true vibrato. Does that answer your question? -Michael

Hey i sound very good in person but on recording i sound like a dying cat, why is that
@michaelmingoiamusic5 жыл бұрын
Phoebe zwuup Hi Phoebe. I hear this a lot from singers actually. And most of the time it’s all in your head- for real. When we speak and sing we are always used to hearing how we sound from the vibrations inside our heads and also how we sound with the sound our voice made bouncing off the walls and back into our ears. When we hear a recording of ourselves, half of the natural way we hear our own voices is gone. We aren’t producing the sound from inside now, only hearing it from the speakers. So it sounds a bit strange to us. In addition, it’s a digital sound rather than an organic sound. I hope this helps. If you would like any singing pointers let me know. You can send me a link of a song you sung and I’ll give you my honest feedback. -Michael
