I was writing you a 2112 lines comment, then i fucked up all the thing pressing some shit.It was an awsome story telling about The Mezzabarba big red transformers powering my brain cells, and the N-feedback controls carrying that hum(it's the model with midi ,right?)...The amp is not mine, i'm a bass player.I became a guitar gear nerd in the mid 90's after ten years of daily mods bassman style preamps more than ampeg ones like a medicine to avoid too much time on the instrument, remaining "in those territories".I was a little maniac....now i burn gasoline on my bike and covid has burned all my live gigs and almost all my music related works but there is always someone who need help with gears in some recording situation.I think Mr Mezzabarba is clever enough to release the same amp with a fixed negative feedback because such a good amp can't carry all that hum even if a N-feedback control circuit is a great idea.Excuse my terrible english and the need of writing annoying comment I have today.Cheers from Italy.

Not too far off a set of tones, from the Hafler/Bogner TripleGiant [better clean on the Nirvana by far], but with added functions, boost and other buttons that you really didn't explain so I googled for the people: each channel has option to be programmed to have added Boost and Brite, and ch's 2 + 3 have a 2nd Master. The Boost definitely adds what you want to ch 2, Mike overlooked describing it deeper, surely because he was just stunned by the in your face feel of this thing. Getting this to the USA with footswitch, is close to 3 grand. With duties/import/shipping, likely over 3. Hopefully stores like Guitar Center/Sam Ash will stock them so you can at least test it out.

Reckon this amazing preamp is very sensitive to different guitars, and yes with that modern rack tone Michael described so eloquently ;) So much balls! Yet, a vintage geared LP still sounded it’s classic best- low output, fat and open. Would love to hear some hotter, modern pickups on channels 2 & 3 that make input compress a tad more. PRS Custom 24 maybe, Ernie Ball MM, Silverburst LP custom even.. AJ would probably dig this. (Apologies Michael if your LP has more modern pups in it already) 🍻
