hello, fo I can change depth than making alpha?

Hey Michael, how would I go about grabbing the alpha of a VDM brush? In other words I need just the brush part itself but if I draw it on a subdivided plane I get a white background. I'd like to used the alphas is SP without having any sort of border. Thanks!
