Michaels haul and time for tea, swatch in my moleskine with me, journal with me

I have a bunch of Ohuhu markers which I like, but they are a bit darker than the pen lid suggests. They blend wonderfully though, no lines, just a flat block of colour. I have read the Artists Way as well, and did the morning pages for a while. The artists date I just modified to suit myself - because like you, I have caring commitments, so I just made it about creating a space of time for myself to play with my stuff and experiment with colour. Occasionally I go outside and do creative things, like sit in the garden and draw a tree or a flower from life, or take a photo of the way the lights shines in a puddle of water etc. I buy my supplies online, so going to an actual shop isn't an issue. (I would spend far too much anyway, haha!)

I think the render sketchbook has bleed through pages for alcohol ink markers. I play with ink occasionally, but I mainly use watercolors. I really want to get more practice in with oils and acrylics. I think it’s awesome that you had a self care day and took yourself on an artist date. I probably won’t be awake in the early morning, but maybe others will be. Either way, I’d watch the replay hehe 😄💜

Thank you! I love watercolors for free play but I’m too maximalist for it sometimes 😂 today was definitely needed and I feel much better.

I think Bristol paper is supposed to be good for alcohol markers. I think they still bleed through the back though. Acrylic ink is fun to do straw blowing with too.

Maybe I bought the wrong ink back in the day 😂 all I know is my husband was like 👀 what u doing bc our whole apartment stunk to high heaven and we both got lightheaded

What kind of journal do u use for your daily journaling?

I use a comp notebook for daily morning pages. Then this nice fat moleskine expanded is my mostly daily journal. I skip around a lot and it’s a catch all. I put notes in there for classes and workshops I take, daily notes, drawings, I tape in receipts, packaging, stickers.

@Starmoth Press I was trying to figure out what I was going to use as my daily journal and I really like moleskin journals because they look like they could hold up to any art supplies. Ty for sharing this with me and I love your journaling style. You inspire me so much.

@@boog1971 thank you! I will suggest if you plan on using any paints that the moleskine art journals would be best as they have thicker paper.
