Thank you for this video. I wish for you all the best in your mental health journey and that things continue to improve. One thing that I want to do for myself this year is to settle down with the planner and journal hopping. And instead use all that energy for being creative inside my planner and journals.

I also hope to not be jumping around as much. I will say I have less issues with my planner on that front. Luckily I write a lot so I go through journals quick 😅

I will see if I can find resources for this, but I am so not the person to learn from in this regard. I have a very complicated relationship with money and don’t feel confident in this respect 😅😂 I will see if I can find some creators to shoutout for this, though. I could use to learn to streamline my process.

I love this so much. I agree SO much about perception of your life and life around you. When I started to realize that it was my choice to choose how I see the world, my life changed completely. I wish others could understand that, to see the beauty despite all the pain and stress. Even in the littlest things you can choose to see goodness. When you open your mind to the belief that you can choose to see things from a different person's perspective it allows you to become more grateful, humble and kind to those around you because you can have a better understanding of the lives others may live.

Absolutely! I know this has been painted as spiritual bypassing by some. I don’t think this is meant to be used in that way. I think we all have the tools we need at the times we need them, and reframing is such a powerful tool. We don’t have to gaslight ourselves into positivity, I think it can be very grounded 💖

Beautiful! The merging of making and your contemplative words… I resonate to the finding purpose piece, but I have surrendered to my own knowing that it changes, evolves and shifts - just as I do. And therefore my truth changes and shifts. And that’s actually perfectly ok… 🫶🏽

It’s always nice to hear your thoughts. I believe that in the USA people are more pressured to align with the majority. In Europe, we’re not as pressured to be always productive or always busy. Of course, things are not what they were when I was a child or teenager, but maybe we’re much relaxed regarding what society may or may not expect from us. Maybe we’re more tolerant to the ones who are different, not only regarding professional or life choices, but also regarding religious beliefs, gender identity or even political opinions. Stay true to yourself! That path is never wrong 💙💚💛🩷♥️🤎💜🧡🩶🩵❤️

I think you’re probably right, although I know some areas in the U.S. have more flexibility. It just isn’t a society that’s very kind to anyone outside of what they deem useful.

Hi Rikki. Thank you so much for this video. A real reminder for me. I love meditation but I need stimulation to be able to really go deep. This is another great example of "there's more than one way" . I tried the sitting still for many years and use to be hard on myself for not "getting it" and then I found my way. Sound and/or movement are my key tools for meditation. Thanks again my friend, I absolutely adore your creations. 🧚♀️❤️🔥🌸

Loved the video Rikki! When I’m having a low day, I find if I can get myself to make something creative, my mood usually picks up a lot. And when we share our creations with our online communities, we inspire others and can reflect on other’s thoughts about our work. It’s a win win!

so well said...doing anything that brings us joy will get us in that meditative state.. in a world that tries to distract us with all its technology and politics its easy to get sucked up and believe whatever they try to feed us..including that we are powerless...so slowing down and doing these "little" things is so important. we are all creative in some shape or form and by sharing yer talent I truly believe you encourage and inspire others to do the same. Our imperfections makes us unique and embracing them is so so important. was very relaxing to watch the collage come together, loved the music also. Ty for sharing yer gift with us Nikki<3

I agree with you on the collage benefits. Although I don’t post it, I do collage very often, even because it inspires me to do my fabric collage when stitching. Fabric collage is one of my favourite techniques and doing it with paper is so helpful. I also like to add a quote. Whenever someone shares a beautiful quote or I find it somewhere, I keep it on my iPad to use it later. I usually love to use flowers, botanicals and birds, but I so admire your abstract collages, as I said many times. And breaking “rules” is one of the most satisfying things we can ever experience! Thank you for this so inspiring video 💙❤️🩷🩶💚🩵🧡💜🤎💛♥️

Breaking the rules is the best! As I’ve shared so much I get stuck in my head a lot, second guessing and worrying. It feels good to push myself out of my comfort zone. I love your fabric collages! You’re one of the inspirations that keeps me coming back to slow stitching 😊

I must begin to tell you how much I love the idea of love letters to yourself. We’re told to be kind, nice and gentle to others, which is absolutely necessary and fundamental, but the first person to whom we need to be kind, nice and gentle is ourselves. And, yes, it’s ok to keep dreaming. In fact, it’s so important to keep dreaming. At the age of 53, I have a dream that I started thinking about when I was 43. It’s never too late. Your journal is looking adorable ❤️💛🤎🧡💙💜🩷🩵💚🩶♥️

Your journal is so lovely 😍 watching you journal is so inspiring. I’m so proud of you and your sobriety journey. We all have our individual struggles in life, and when you’re healing from them… it just feels like you’re a whole different person with a different perspective. At least that’s how it seems to me. I think your Gather Haven shop sounds lovely! I’ve had similar dreams of opening a witchy community art space where you can get coffee and tea and snacks while using the supplies provided to create arty things. I would also have a gallery wall where people could sell or display the art they make. One day, am I right?! Anyway, hope you’re doing well! 💜🥰🌼🌸✨
