Dude, not to sound like an ass. But you're also talking about a kid who blasted the front rotor of his dirt bike with WD-40 because it was rusty and then complained that his bike wouldn't stop. I honestly think he should keep his hands off of anything 2-stroke. But that's just my opinion about him. He seems like a total dunce when it comes to anything he gets his hands on. For some reason I could see him getting his hands on a rare big cc chain saw and then crying that it doesn't run good on water. :P

I probably shouldn't have TRUMPED THAT ON YOUR CHANNEL. Sorry. The engine Was rated @ 39 HP but properly uncorked it was a more like 43. The bike turned faster than the Suzuki and the Banshee. I added a tooth too the rear sprocket and it made a huge difference. I'm looking forward to the FUTURE and seeing you ride her. Thanks for the effort that you put in your channel. ✌

This is my hinson story.....so I bought the basket inner boss and outer boss separate from 3 different sellers and the basket was 150 new open box....the inner and outer were very slightly used...I got the plates and fiber kit for 100 and I went with aftermarket Barnett springs....they have some gold shit coated onto them that's makes them special somehow not sure...but I saved like 600 bucks buy not buying the complete kit....the action after install is really smooth

sweet set up dude . ive always just ran hinson clutches with the basket . their disks are dimpled now smooth and never had problems and ive raced mine for many years . then you dont have all kinds of other parts you have to find . just one call thats all . hinson is the way lol . and anything klutz is top of the line . i do wonder though if this neils clutch set up is cheaper than hinson though
@MichaelSabo4 жыл бұрын
I think price-wise, the Hinson fibers and discs is actually cheaper. OEM stuff purchased individually is usually not cheap; mine sure wasn't. However, the OEM stuff is supposed to wear very well so I'll try it.

@Motoinc4 жыл бұрын
Doesn't scuffling the metal plates make the fiber wear faster because it is scuffed?
@MichaelSabo4 жыл бұрын
In theory it could if the plates are still slipping a lot; but it should have less slippage which can actually save the fibers from wearing.

Wouldn’t you need a different inner hub? since your adding another friction and steel it looks like the last steel wouldn’t engage with the inner hub. 26:35
@MichaelSabo4 жыл бұрын
I am running 7 fibers which is the stock amount. If you run 8 fibers, then yes, you do need to run an aftermarket boss and pressure plate.
@Jursaw4 жыл бұрын
Man I just did this on my dads ltr450 and now the clutch lever wont fully disengage the clutch. If you pull it and try to into first it will stall out. Think the lever just needs to be adjusted?
@MichaelSabo4 жыл бұрын
That's what it sounds like to me, could be as easy as tightening up your cable. Might want to inspect your clutch basket fingers too,, if they're grooved, it can cause the clutch to hang up.
@Jursaw4 жыл бұрын
Michael Sabo I replaced the basket with a hi son and inner hub with another brand. I trued adjusting it and now it bangs into gear. It won’t let me put it into neutral. It skips and goes into 2nd. I’m not sure if I just don’t know how to adjust the clutch cable correctly. My dad said it wouldn’t bang into gear before. I also put Tusk heavy duty springs in it as well. I only soaked the clutch discs in oil for like an hour so maybe that is the cause. He is going to take it to the power sports mechanic because I don’t want to ruin anything.
@MichaelSabo4 жыл бұрын
@@Jursaw its not because you only soaked the plates for an hour. So it had normal function before? Its possible the new clutch pack is too thick causing it to never fully disengage. You may need to use a different washer on your pressure plate or mess with your cable some more. It's hard to diagnose without seeing it, i hope you're able to figure it out man.
@Jursaw4 жыл бұрын
Michael Sabo Thank you for your help! My dad said the clutch lever was always hard to pull since he bought it used but it never banged into gear. This past weekend he said the clutch was toast. Ill comment once I hear back from his atv mechanic
@brad40104 жыл бұрын
Hey Michael. Are you sure you peened the bolts correctly? I usually seen folks strike the edge where the bolt thread meets the wall, vice the center.
@MichaelSabo4 жыл бұрын
I actually researched this before making the video; from what I found; bolts can be peened on the edge or the middle. Other people actually mushroom the end of the bolt with a peening hammer if there are enough threads exposed. Hinson did not specify where they recommend you make your peen.
@brad40104 жыл бұрын
@@MichaelSabo Cool! Just wanted to make sure. I'm not the biggest fan of the Hinson instructions. My dad and I are rebuilding my old Z400 and restoring one of Chris Borich's LTRs from last season. Decent video man! Be aware of just how much the larger torque wrench is off spec though. Like you say, you’re reducing down a lot! To let other folks know. If you’re in the bottom or top 10-15% or so of the range of a spring type torque wrench then they’re really unreliable. Get a bigger or smaller wrench if at all possible. I understand that a new torque wrench is expensive for a lot of guys, but it’s a hell of a lot less than a new case if they’re stripping out smaller bolts using too large torque wrench.
