The best videos to understand and pass the tsia2 test!!! i started the test last tuesday and did not finish but did not pass the first 20 questions so i had to go back today for the diagnostic part, that gave me time and i binged watched your videos throughout the week and today i passed the math diagnostic part!!! im so happy and it was all thanks to your way of teaching.

for question number you could have distributed 4 to 4(n-9)+n which would have given 4n-36+n and then add 4n+n and and thus the answer is automatically 5n-36. This is another way you could have approached the question. Overall your videos are amazing and your channel is really great and very fun way to learn and feels like you are really in the classroom.

Thanks for reaching out!! That works too!! I help a lot of students that struggle with Algebraic operations like those, so that’s why I approach the questions the way I do… but if you’re comfortable with the Algebra that’s a good path… I’m cool with anything that gives you the right answer!

How he got 5 for question 4 is confusing me because the questions didn’t point out how many pens their were

You’re right! It doesn’t say how many pens there are! But the question does say there are 3 more pens than pencils, so if there are 2 pencils you can assume there are 5 pens, right? Make sense?

So for question 3 why are you trying to solve for n? Isn’t that’s adding more step when there a more direct way to solving the problem? (Same answer either way just curious)

Not really “solving” for n here, just creating a value to see which answer choice matches with the expression in the question… If you’re familiar with “combining like terms” that totally works too if you are algebraically inclined… I’m cool with anything that gets you the right answer! : )

Thank you very much for the assist, your course is saving me, but is there any chance you would be able to enable the ability to change the playback speed of your videos hosted on Vimeo? I believe it's an option you have to enable manually, and I find that being able to play the videos on a higher speed helps me maintain my focus better

Almost 20 years out of highschool it all seems intimidating and even discouraging. After bombing the practice test I found you on here, and you’ll be directly responsible for any success I have in the math portion. Thanks for reaching out! If you’re taking the TSI, You can access the full course at tsimath.net Watch the videos, do the problem sets between the sections of the course, and when you can answer the questions comfortably on your own you’re ready to take the test! You can do this!

Depends how much time you have to devote to study each day… sections of the course are 2-3 hours of video instruction per “Day” (plus the practice problem sets, so if you have that kind of time per day you can finish in 6 days… Some students are going to need to spread that out though, as time permits. Whatever works best for you and your schedule!

@adriennecarson115 Great question!! if you’re just taking the QAS, you should rewatch days 1-5… you only need to worry about Day 6 if you’re taking the AAF (Advanced Algebra and Functions) section of the test…
