There are two versions of this video. This one, and "The Prison House" version. This one brought absolute awareness to the other side of this city. Most folks only saw the tourism spots. Beautiful beaches, and fancy hotels/restaurants. When this came out, it was a wake up to what the slums looked like. Michael did things like that. No US President has gone to jail. Former President Trump is under indictment......but he has not gone to jail. Janet has several videos dancing in the street. But she kinda does not really count. She is straight up on his level already.

Contrary to popular belief, Michael was very conscious both of his race, and the problems suffered by his people. He called out hypocrisy and abuse whenever he saw it, and this song is a prime example. Personally, I prefer the "prison version" of this film, where he includes footage of Martin Luther King.
