I grew up with all the fabulous music from the 60's - 80's. ABBA was one of my favorites. They had lots of hits & I owned many of their albums. I can't think of a bad song by them. Some of their best are "Thank You For The Music", "Does Your Mother Know?", "Waterloo", "Money, Money, Money", "The Name Of The Game", "Super Trouper", "I Have A Dream", "Voulez-Vous", "Fernando", "Chiquitita", "Mamma Mia", "SOS", "Knowing Me, Knowing You" etc.

I've met heavy-metal fans who loved this song. You'd never think they'd get into disco, and yet... there's something timeless about it, sheer joy and energy. "Dancing Queen" is known the world over, and will live forever.

It’s hard to believe any adult hasn’t heard ABBA sometime! Have you heard of the Broadway musical, Mama Mia? It’s based on ABBA songs. My favorite ABBA song is Waterloo. Just now I was fixing lunch and had to stop so I could dance around the kitchen. I love seeing young people raving about music from way back. I go even farther back because I turned 79 last month. There is an unending supply of fabulous music from the 50s on. Dig in!

Rod Stewart at some point said that Dancing Queen was the ultimate disco song, that it could not be topped, and many DJs have said this is a goto song when you want to fill the dance floor. Benny Andersson is a fantastic self taught piano player, equally great at any kind of keyboard, including the accordion… He has actually released an album where he performs several of his songs, including many old ABBA hits on just the piano - and they still sound fantastic!

Two of the hottest babes you could imagine, a blonde and brunette, fantastic vocals, amazing harmonies and joyful music written by the guys with mega hooks. Of course that guitarist is smiling. One of those singers is his wife. And the piano player is married to the other. Never could keep which ones were married to each other though. ABBA was kinda-sorta a guilty pleasure for us country boys. But if alone in the car and they came on the radio you still cranked it. Or at the skating rink where they were played almost constantly.

ABBA is made up of 2 married couples. Their name is from the first letter of all of their names. When they came on the scene they ruled the airwaves. Each couple divorced later and the group broke up but reunited a few years ago for special project.

When this came out I was a hardcore teenage punk rocker, so this blew right past my rebellious head-banger self. The first time I really listed to it was, appropriately, in a Beijing China disco in 1991. Fantastic! Listening later to the lyrics I immediately grocked why the the girls in my school loved it. The POV of the song is a totally girl-powered, Friday night, fun. Girls just want to have fun, and they break hearts doing it, LOL. Awesome song, that is why it gest millions of likes.
