We were taught this in an institution that I was once in. I credit this as a large part of why I'm alive.

Don't hold your breath and blow from your mouth while restricting air coming out to create a pressure in your lungs and make long deep breaths.

I am physically disabled and could use this to help me keep my body from losing as much strength and qi as possible. Is there anywhere I can get a teaching DVD/book/instructional video?
@goognamgoognw66375 жыл бұрын
Just follow this video or copy it to a DVD. You are giving too many excuses instead of starting to emulate his movements (within your capacity/ability). There is no limitation in how many times you can view a youtube video. Get a wireless mouse so you can stop/play the video while training.

Good afternoon, I have been teaching Wu Tai Chi Chuan and Qi Gong for 18 years. The Turtle Qi Gong is a great form but I would respectfully suggest that you look for a local teacher who can work with whatever challenges you are dealing with in a way that resonates with you,Tai Chi is good but so is Yoga. I think it more important to have a good relationship with a qualified teacher, there is so much left unsaid in a DVD and even less in a You Tube video; it cannot convey the internal. It would be like teaching someone to read and never getting beyond Dick And Jane. I hope you find what you need, all the best

@@patrickstanley8655 How many handicapped people do you teach ? I bet none. You're giving the typical do as I say, not as I do in my own class. Handicapped people need special help when exercising and usually cannot afford the higher fees of a personal teacher. A DVD is going to be a more realistic solution for the majority of them. Furthermore, there is the issue of liability if a person falls and gets hurt, even if the probability is near zero, it is usually impossible to find a class that caters for the handicapped. I have practiced Kung Fu and Tai Chi my whole life. I have learned from a Chinese grand master, but a DVD or a good youtube video is still better than a book and a book is still better than nothing. And this person is interested in a book or DVD. Sometimes challenged people need tough encouragement like "what are you waiting to get started ?" and not the impractical sugarcoated words that made you (not them) feel good about yourself. Furthermore, speaking about the general public, not just handicapped people, most western practitioners (non-handicapped) of martial arts lack the will to learn by themselves, and want to be baby-sited. Often those pathetic classes are encouraged by teachers who are insecure about competitive and motivated students that may quickly get better than they are. Asians never need this kind of baby sitting and long talks , even as they learn under a master talking is limited to minimum and learning is 10X faster. (friendly) Chalenge to the master is a normal Asian attitude in healthy martial arts. This is how you learn Kung Fu, if you have a will to learn.

@@patrickstanley8655 Me ? It was not about me nor you. I suggest you take some time to study Buddhism to learn not to reason in egotistic opposing sides of 'me' and 'you'. Something westerners struggle with.
