Hands down one of the greatest drummers EVER to sit behind a kit. Expression, musicality, execution, on and on. A true Master and inspiration!

Danny was and is the heart and soul of Chicago and without his drumming the band does not represent the true Chicago vibe it once had. Sad what his band mates did to him..

While I still maintain Danny is probably the best drummer of our time, he played this considerably different than what he did on the album in a lot of ways. I'm currently teaching a 15-year-old student how to play this song and I wouldn't want her to see this because it would confuse her lol.

It was the cold, mechanical precision of the 80s that fucked him over. By 80s standards, Kath would have been a messy, imprecise guitar player as well - should they have hired Steve Vai instead? Give me a fucking break.

Great drumming. Can anyone tell me why he left Chicago or was fired? I heard something about his drumming getting sloppy but not sure if that was true
@mwolfdrums6 жыл бұрын
It is true they let him go because he was not focused on his drumming. Danny is a free drummer that likes to set the tempo and in the 80's when click tracks and drum machines were getting popular, I think it took a hit on his confidence. IF you watch The History Of Chicago, the members point out that its the drummers job to know where the "1" is. The 80's were not kind to drummers and certianly not to Danny. I am glad that he is back into the swing of things and doing gigs again.
@davecorsi49156 жыл бұрын
Michael's point is why music became boring in the 80's.
@rhsilverberg6 жыл бұрын
Oh, man; Danny absolutely knew where the "1" is. I saw the documentary, have seen Danny's C.T.A., tours with Chicago from 1970 through 1989 (Chicago 19) and this guy is incredibly smart and fluid. That unpredictability factor in his style is what gave Chicago that vibe. Tris Imboden is a good drummer; he's no Danny Seraphine.
@jimpetrakis40296 жыл бұрын
he was trying to take over the politics of the band and the other members didnt like that because they are a demacratic machine
@dougconley5 жыл бұрын
He probably got bored drumming to that 80's stuff they were putting out.
