He is in pain...but listeners would never know it when hearing his beautiful, masterful playing. His soloing is delightful. It's almost as if he is a part of the piano, the way he brings lovely music forth. He provides untold happiness to people all over the world. RIP Michel.

What i find truly impeccable is that his disease, osteogenesis imperfecta, actually causes him to be in constant pain. Yet he could play so gracefully and masterfully. This is what pure passion gives you.

Who’s back getting blown away by this incredible performance in 2024? He’s moving between so many harmonic styles so deftly. He was telling a story with perfect structure that keeps you captivated and the 7 minutes flew by. He’s the perfect combination of musical talent, amazing taste and unbelievable technique.

Ashamed to say I had never heard of him until 10 minutes ago. What an incredible guy and what a sad sad loss to die so young. Fabulous and very moving piano playing. Makes me very emotional.

Unbelievable harmonic freedom, honestly i have never heard a pianist doing such crazy harmonies and yet still be so on point with the melody. I cannot understand how you can improvise something so complex so easily. Its truly next level.

I was always serenaded by the works of Erik Satie and William Grant Still and other musicians alike.... but just then when I heard him play, I was connecting with a new side of music again. And yes it is a great immense feeling. Every composition I watch and hear him play, I fall in love with every chord progression and little notes he adds.. I feel blessed once again to have discovered something truly astounding. Thank you Michel for the good sound, I will forever remember this moment. Rest in paradise

Amazing recording of such an wonderful ballad...once beautifully recorded by the duke and coltrane and here , so different but so similar at the same time by petrucciani...arguable the best concert he ever gave, with the same passion he always used to put out there. I also am ashamed to say I had never heard of him until a stumbled at random on one of his vids a few minutes ago. I am totally amazed by his playing -and shocked I have not heard of him before. Very sad to find he died in 1999 a few days after his 36th birthday, he obviously had a lot more to give...

This man had the greatest ability to hear alternative unexplored yet accessible notes - chords and rhythms to so many songs,he made them fresh and unique to his fantastic interpretation. I listen to his works in stunned and awed appreciation . He passed this way but once, and left an unassailable legacy.
