This has been the most extensive explanation of the backswing, not many golf teachers explain like this, you are a great teacher.

Michele - I’m an amputee golfer where I lost my left forearm in a childhood accident. This is the first golf instruction video regarding right arm / wrist positioning that was so very clear. I have some inconsistencies in my swing as I never received formal lessons, and I can use what I just saw/ learned from this video right away. Thank you so much for your very clear instructions!

This video was key to finally fixing all of my issues. None of my coaches ever told me what is the proper way to hinge and the positioning of the right elbow. I get good solid contact every time now and swing smooth and easy. Wish you could be my coach from the start. Wasted many months and money doing everything wrong.

Michele, I’ve been having lessons and watching a lot of KZbin videos. Your input on KZbin has been really good for me. Things that would have been useful to know via my lessons which always seem to focus on Trackman rather than what I need to do to get in the correct positions. Examples recently on right arm movement and also hip rotation have told me things that I really needed to know (and have really made a big difference in my game). Keep it up, thanks!

I agree with previous comments I’m nearly 60 and it longer and better than many others but I’ve never had consistency in my game. This may sound crazy but the that you specifically sequence… 1) take away 2)bend right wrist to parallel, and 3)bend right elbow Like the previous comment I read.. No other teachers have ever broken down the backswing into such an easy and simple way to describe the backswing. It’s interesting because the backswing, is the most difficult think to understand in golf and you explained it way better than any of the other online teachers on line. There is no doubt that’s the greatest explanation of the backswing that I’ve ever seen. I’ve always wondered when to begin to cock wrists and how much wrist cock is needed and I always knew it was minimal. WITHOUT ANY DOUBT THIS IS THE BEST EXPLANATION OF THE PROPER SEQUENCE OF THE BACKSWING EVER!!!! Can’t wait to practice this… Thank you Michelle!!!!

I find that my grip makes a huge difference to where the right arm goes. When I place my club in the fingers of the right hand, my elbow isn’t close my body. This is just like you. So I naturally bring club across the line. Letting this happen has helped me add 20-30yds. I used to have stronger right hand grip which made it very hard.

@midlifebiker7424
@midlifebiker7424 Жыл бұрын
Try doing backswing slowly with lead arm only and hold at top ensuring elbow isnt bent. Check in mirror or vid whilst gripping with trail hand, where the elbow is. Dont think of arms but hips tilt. Its the trail arm that causes the lead arm to bend. Ive been playing for 3 years and still use drills to ensure Im using my hips and not arms, partic when frustrated or tired. Good luck..

@midlifebiker7424
@midlifebiker7424 Жыл бұрын
Most ppl hit fades as its easier. You have to change set up for draw. Look at John Rahm, he has a very short backswing due to medical reasons, but he uses his hips well. I do lots of back and glute stretches to help my back however if you are excessively twisting and not tilting it may be the problem.
@stewartsharpe9258
@stewartsharpe9258 Жыл бұрын
@@midlifebiker7424 I have a natural fade it's a nice slight fade which works well and for my back I actually use a shorter but punching back swing which allows me to not twist as much which my mate who is a golf pro just showed me today I ended up hitting a PB 3 wood 240 yards the 123 method works really well allowing for a nice flowing timing

Love ylur videos. Very simple, my issue is i prefer a strong grip, but if i look at myself on video, when i get to the top, im way shut (club face flat at the sky) , i can kinda correct it, by cupping my wrist, but i heard this is not good., but i have less hard pulls and i feel like i get better contact. So is this bad, to be a little cupped at the top with a strong grip? I have to have a really weak grip to keep the wrist flat and be square at the top and i end up way open at impact if indont roll it shut on the way around, and it juat feels yucky. I dont want to make a swing chmge unless im sure its a good one. Im slightly cupped in video and its still slightly closed kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHzQfIltYqqLq6c
