Jealousy is not what people are feeling, perhaps a slight envy? But it’s not jealousy! It’s just the sheer excess. I love travel vlogs etc but what she is putting out isn’t something people are clearly enjoying! Ignorance would equate to someone saying others are jealous, I find it just disgusting to spend so much and focus your whole life on Prada and clothing. This is sending a message to the world that this behavior is the norm. It’s not in fact it’s a psychological issue and someone lacking something in their inner soul. Having nice outfits is one thing, the need for constant high priced items makes me actually feel sad for that person and Michelle seems like a very nice lady!

While I do understand the sentiment of the excessive spending comments, most of them just scream jealousy to me. Many decades ago, I would spend my babysitting money on the big Fall issue of Vogue, fully aware that everything in there was well beyond my reach, and it still is, but I enjoyed it anyway, and translated the styles to those more in line with my wallet. I feel the same about Michelle’s vlogs. This is a luxury channel, I find it just as “fantasy fun” as page-turning my Vogue mag as a kid.

Respectfully, how much was the big fall issue of Vogue then? $5? Six, seven, eight dollars? The Prada anorak shown here alone costs almost four thousand dollars. Maybe others don’t see what a closet full of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of clothing, handbags, shoes and accessories isn’t anything to be jealous of to many. Many people don’t normalize this behavior. For many, It seems pitiable in its excess ( not to mention, there doesn’t seem to be any apparent end of it in sight, as more and more is added to this haul pile regularly.) The five dollar once a year magazine is one thing. This is another 🥴

Michele ... the vlogs from this trip are such a gift to us as well. I stayed up late last night watching the ones from Milan and my eyes were literally glowing with the wonder of it all. What I appreciate so much is how this amazing trip ties back to your lifelong love of fashion, design, fabric and fabrication ... it is not simply luxury and logo but memory and art. Seeing your camelhair anorak took me back to my childhood in the 50s when my carpenter father bought me a camelhair coat because it was classic and cut so well ... he too understood the beauty of art and design and its value in our lives. Thank you for that memory and for sharing this astonishing memory making trip with us.
