It would have been interesting to compare how well studded winter tyres would work there south...
@sprintervanconversions10 ай бұрын
Yes absolutely and if I still had those studded tyres, I’d be very happy to do a comparison. However, as mentioned, these tyres feel incredibly stable while driving, much more so than I expected, having had such good quality winter tyres in the past!

I had these tyres on my previous car, absolutely loved them. Just like you in the south of England we don't really have much of a winter in the Netherlands. Maybe a couple of weeks a year, not enough to justify special winter tyres. I'm looking for a new set of wheels for my new car and plan to get another set of Michelin for them.

Yes totally! A great hybrid tyre for all weather :) which car did you go for?

I decided on the Grabber AT3 a good 50/50 that wear evenly.liked the look also of the Agilas but had my heart set on the Grabbers.👍

Had these on my last car and will put them on again soon on an EV. I was blown away with their performance in winter, took them out to test on compacted road and fresh snow they are a game-changer. Being able to safely bring the car to a stop without any surprises or get up a hill where others are getting stuck. Alright they are not the best summers and you may not get a crazy severe winter but better to have these than find yourself in a ditch.

Was considering getting these on my new-to-me 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLC 300 4Matic Coupé in the plains of the USA (in suburban Chicago) when the time comes to get a new set of tires. Got the car with OEM Goodyear Eagle Sport MOE (Run Flat) staggered setup. The car had only 11,173 miles just after my purchase. Within the first month of ownership I had to replace the right rear due to a puncture (tire pressure = 0psi). Replacement was > $700.00. Now I'm tempted to keep the Goodyears this year and replace before the winter 2024-25 season begins. Might as well get some use out of that new Goodyear. They seem to be coping with the significantly less amount of snow I've dealt with in Chicago in my adult years (just turned 60). It's markedly less than we used to have when I was a kid in the 1960s-70s. "The era of global warming has ended. The era of global boiling has just begun." I heard that on a BBC 'Newscast' podcast recently (and it rings true in my location). In recent years we hardly get significant snowfall with long periods of snow remaining on the ground before melting. And yes, I'm aware of the irony of this paragraph given that we're at 15°F (-9.44°C) with several inches of snow on the ground today. As I've indicated above, the Goodyears have appeared to cope with Chicago (& southern Wisconsin last weekend) snowfall so long as one drives with due care & attention to local conditions. So, these Michelin tires will remain on my radar.

No problems! Apart from the battery going flat (some idiot left the headlights on…😅😅)!

Great video. What are ko2 tires?
@robertglen38923 ай бұрын
Great video, thanks. Please would you let me know what pressures you set your tyres at? Is it the 80psi that Michelin seems to recommend regardless of axle weight?
@sprintervanconversions3 ай бұрын
Off the top of my head I think i went with 65psi front and back :)

They are road tyres, no doubt about that but i haven't got stuck driving on snow or wet grass...doesn't mean to say it might not happen.

Hello from Finland. These tyres are not winter tyres. I've been driving with the tyres many years in summer/autumn. You can drive with these in the beginning of the winter before you you change proper winter tyres. These are really really good tyres for summer and they last really long. You can easily drive about 60000-70000 km with these tyres before you need to buy new ones.
@MrTrs197810 ай бұрын
Absolutely no scam, they are very good tyres for what they are sold for. Not for when you have 6 months of winter but enough for a place where you have only a few weeks of winter weather.
@sprintervanconversions10 ай бұрын
You’re right, they aren’t winter dedicated tyres but they perform just as well in my opinion (just not on black ice of course!) 🥶
