Thank you for your honest review! I've bought these 3 weeks ago, and 3 days ago I finally took them on the mountain after a night of fresh snow. I just want to say that I was passing by all the other cars stopping to put snowchains on, my car was not slipping at all, and I felt really comfortable and in control on these, until I reached the ski resort I was heading to. I'm really impressed with these tires, if they hold up for the kms they are advertised, they are amazing! The Bridgestone A005 Evo I had before were left with almost no tread after 44.000km which I felt was a little too early. I'll be back in two years to give you my honest opinion after I wear them out!

Hi! How would you compare these tires to the Bridgestone A005 Evo? How have your Michelins held up over time? I drive a Fiat 500, which is a fairly light car, and I've had some bad experiences with the Bridgestones, especially in snowy conditions. I'm considering giving all-season tires one more shot before switching away for good. Since you've had the chance to try both, I'd love to hear your thoughts and whether you're happy with the Michelins so far!

I had cross climate 2s on my bmw 335 and they were phenomenal even in winter. I put them on at 250k and drove the car till 320km and then the car was sold and it had still lots of tread left to pass safety. This is the best all round tire in the market.

I have 83k mi's. on my CrossClimate2's in 4 years of driving with a set on my 2018 Camry hybrid and still have a healthy 5/32nds left. They still perform outstanding even in the rain. My Camry rides on 205/65/R16's, so they probably still slice through the water better than the wider 18's on your RAV4 do. My only complaint with these tires is the effect they had on my gas mileage with my hybrid. I immediately lost 8 mpg when I installed them and it has only come back incrementally as they wore. Like 1 mpg every 10k. I attribute this to the fact that 90% of my driving is at speeds around 70 mph. These tires are far more roll resistant at high speeds than they are at lower speeds. I don't think there's near as much drag at speeds of 50 mph and lower. But at 70 mph I can actually feel the car slow down faster when I lift my foot off the throttle than before. I don't notice that below 50 mph. That's why there is such a discrepancy with peoples different driving conditions. A person that routinely drives in the city and only uses the freeway for a short distance to get to their next destination will not likely notice much, if any drop in mpg. But a person that lives in a small rural town and spends most of their driving on the Interstate like I do will take a big hit in mpg with these tires. And especially with a hybrid because it forces my car to run the engine more and the electric motor less due to the high speed drag. Thus the initial 8 mpg loss. But now that I have over 80k on them, my fuel mileage has been pretty much restored and I still have another 15-20k to go. Since it is the end of summer for me, I will run these through 1 more winter and sometime before next winter I will replace them. They should have around 100k mi's. on them by then and be worn to around 3/32nds which I don't mind running through the summer. I will be replacing these with the same Michelin CC2 tires. They will have more than doubled the mileage of the Firestones they replaced and the Michelins were only around $50 more for the set than the Firestones were. Even though I figure they will have cost me close to $800 extra in fuel costs over the course of 100k mi's. over the Firestones, the savings of not having to buy two sets of tires in that amount of time make it a wash financially. And the safety and performance these tires provide as well as the peace of mind of not ending up in the ditch in bad weather easily far outweigh the cost of the extra fuel. These tires are about the best I think you can get for a passenger car.

Great tires. I own the cc2 from Michelin in Germany. Thea have an extra "VOL" label, which I guess comes from the fact that they had been made for Volvo. I used them on our electric car (Kia EV6) and with 5Tousand miles a year, we can use them endless.... Nevertheless in Germany we say that tires after 8 years get bridle. I got abit worried but confidently said yes put them on Coming from Goodyear Ultragrip Ice 2 i can't even tell a difference, They just plow right through the snow and ice and we get ALOT of it up here. Plus i get to keep my nice rims on all year round instead of having a second beater set for the winter. Just remains to see how they are in the summer but right now i'm very happy

Good in the Summer as well mine have two Summers on them and now a second Winter as of today ( February 26th ) and I checked the tread depth which is 8/32s of an inch all across the tire. The reason the tire tech questioned your decision to put these on is that in Europe these are considered an All Season tire. In North America they are called an All Weather tire meaning they carry the 3 Peak Mountain Snowflake symbol which is what Winter tires have on their sidewalls. The tread d3sign is so the tread’s grooves actually widen as they wear. Drive under control and you will easily get 75,000 plus of use before 5hey might need to be changed for winter driving in Sweden.

I am surprised by your Comment I live in Northern Sweden, Cross climates would be useless here in mid winter, I am not even sure if they would be legal as a dedicated Winter tire either, my thoughts are they are good for mild winter driving when its very wet. I agree with your tire shop they would laugh me out the building if I asked for these to be fitted to my car. I will stick with my Nokians . I am guessing you live around Småland where is snows very little.

I'm also an Uber/Lyft Driver in Northern California and was looking for some All Terrain or All Season tires that did good in the snow and still had great comfort and low road noise on the highway. I've been using Bridgestone Turanza Quiettrack with 80k mile warranty but they only lasted about 60k miles each time. I'll definitely have to try the chalk test as I just recently learned about that! I was going to go with the Falken Wildpeak AS Trail but after seeing the outstanding reviews on America's Tire website and Tire Rack, I'm once again having a change of heart about which tires to get. Downside about these tires is that it's $1250 for a set of 4 with the Big O' Tire damage warranty.

Tyre wear depends on a number of factors including the road surfaces that you drive and your tyre pressures. I keep our CC2's at 2psi over recommendation and have not seen any consumption or performance issues over the previous summer tyres that were fitted to my car from new in the UK. These perform brilliantly in the wet and icy conditions of central England as well as in the warmer summer. Best tyres that I have ever bought.

Thank you for this video! I live in Europe and here we get a completely different type of tires - even though it's the same brand, the same model name, ours are made of completely different compound and they wouldn't last even half the mileage you're mentioning. Just FYI 🙂

@Rapscallion2009 9 ай бұрын
We do - and I don't know how I feel about it. I've noticed from Dashcam videos that it usually doesn't seem to take a lot to make American vehicles enter a slide with huge clouds of white smoke. I wondered why and I suspect it's the tire compounds being far harder.

Hello fromm Italy Why crossclimate sold in Europe should be any different?!
@vpenywise
@vpenywise 9 ай бұрын
@leonardocozza3140 Generally it's because of the much higher gas prices in Europe, so the emphasis of a tyre should be towards the best possible mileage, rather than longevity. That's one of the reasons anyway. The tyre manufacturers make completely different tyres for the different markets around the world. So watching reviews online could be "misleading" if you don't know it. E.g., the Michelin Crossclimate 2 is certified with 60,000 miles warranty in the US, which is about 100,000km. We don't get any warranty in Europe, let alone a 100k km one 🙂
@Rapscallion2009
@Rapscallion2009 9 ай бұрын
@@vpenywise I think a harder tyre compound would actually make the rolling resistance less, improving fuel efficiency. The USA seems to expect a far longer life from their tyres. I suspect the USA has less emphasis on grip and cornering performance than euro - Market conditions are different. If you sold euro tyres in the USA they'd be annoyed how quickly they wore out and if you sold USA ones in euro they'd be annoyed at how little grip they offered. It's actually observable in dashcam videos. USA tyres smoke a lot more and are more vocal.

Bought a set of these from Costco and had slightly less than 10k miles on them when the sidewall blew out on my left front at 80 mph on the Interstate outside of Columbus, MT. Sidewall had big chunks out of it. Called Costco in Billings to see if they had a tire and they did not. Called AAA for roadside assistance and almost 4 hours later had to end up calling a local towing service to come out and install the spare and put air in it. Limped into the Billings Costco and had to buy a new set of tires as we were 250:miles from home and I didn’t want to chance trying to get that far on a temp spare at 50 mph. Thought the tires were great in ice and snow but question the strength of the sidewall after this. AAA’s roadside people never showed up nor called

If you had a sidewall blowout, you had a nail or screw in the tire, somewhere in the belt, below that blown out section. The tire leaks, but you dont realize it is happening unless you regularly monitor your tire pressures. When the heat builds up from the air pressure being too low, the tire expands and blows out at the weakest point, above the same belt as the hole. I used to work for a tire company, in 8 years I found every puncture, nail, screw, etc, in every tire blowout Ive ever worked on. Of course, if you drove on that tire flat for too long it chews the sidewall up and makes it more difficult to find the cause sometimes.

But I always managed to find a nail or sharp piece of metal in these tires. Two of em got punctures. I guess a bonus is the little rocks act like studs in the snow? You never see the Kleber tyres in the same group test as the Michelins - because they are better. Better ride quality, quieter, but just as effective in the snow plus high aquaplaning resistance and excellent wet grip. They last too.. However they are 30% cheaper than Michelin CC’s.

In general so called all season tires are OK to good in summer and terrible in winter. The Cross Climate is a very good tire regardless of the season. Other manufacturers have copied them (all weather category is growing) with variable success but the Cross Climate is still the snow king among them. The best description is a dedicated snow tire that you can use all year. Its all in the compound!

BTW I love the Comment about x or y brands. I've used most most of the best brands, Michelin, Continental, Bridgestone, Goodyear etc, can, and do, make excellent tires, they also make some less excellent ones. What makes Michelin stand over the rest is balance great performance all around. I've used ultra high performance and snow tires from all these brands for decades and what always brings me back to Michelin is that overall excellence in all tire characteristics. The cross climate is the apex of that philosophy, its not a high performance tire but it's still superb in summer, it's not as good as a WS bkizzak in winter, but its not too far from it. In that it stands where very few other tires on the market exist, its a great tire in any weather condition. Until someone comes up with a tire that can be as good in the summer as a Michelin PS4 in the summer and a Bridgstone WS series in the winter, it will reign supreme. No better flattery than Goodyear's newest all climate tire.....the tread (dont know about the rest of the tire) is a 100% copy of the cross climate.😂

The manufacturer did a test .They took a new stet and shaved them to 3 /32 and found the ability in snow was slightly better than a new set. Here in the upper Midwest we get a lot of snow and I run them all winter in wet ,dry and heavy snow.left my garage and plowed through 26 inches of med wet snow with all wheel drive no problem. a A couple of days later I got on a country black top road with very smooth compleatly compacted surface. At 40 mph I hit the brakes and to my amazement the car stopped like it was on dry blacktop with out the anti lock brakes not activating at all till I was at 1 maybe 2 mph for a second. They don't let the car slide in some heave slush I was in a day later while passing and changing lanes at 50 mph. They are so much more capable then I ever thought the could be. But this was all done with AWD . I will using M x climate 2 's for ever ,year round too. In heavy standing water had no hydro planning.Wher I did notice HP was during cornering,just for a sec but it was there so when cornering slow it down .As you noticed when fairly worn it could be a prob.

You showed 4/32's on the outsides of your tire and 5/32's in the middle of the tire...maybe 36psi is a touch low and 38-39psi will result in more even tread wear for you? I just swapped my tires recently also. Was opposite of you and had les tread in the middle of the tires. 44psi proved too much; even though my chalk test showed otherwise. Coincidentally, I am going to drop to 38-39psi on these new current tires; should result in more even wear. The arbitrary OEM specs recommend 36psi for my vehicle as well. Take care.

pro tip...when you buy these tires....they come with a 60k warranty....but the warranty is void if you tell them you work for uber and Lyft....so don't tell them that...rip off all your uber and Lyft stickers before u go in...also keep records of you rotating the tires every time you get an oil change (because they will ask you if you did this...not sure they will want records but its good to keep records of it) if you warranty them out before 60k miles then you should get credit towards a new set...happened for me when I warranted my Michelin primacy tires...I got 4 new Michelin Primacy last time for $350 LOL

I have had Michelin CrossClimate2 on my 2023 Camry XSE 3.5L V6 since day 1. Got rid of the defective and hazardous OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL440s soon after accepting my brand new 2023 Camry XSE V6 with 3 Odometer miles. Only drove on the Turanza EL440 roughly 1/2 mile to the Tire Service Center. Paid $1,192 mount, balance, and sales tax for 4 - 235/40R19 CrossClimate2. I have 7,310 miles on the Camry as of June 2024 as owned it for 18 months now. The CC2s are fantastic tires, the best I've ever had and I have owned 15 vehicles (3 brand new, 3 CPO, and 9 Used) in my 64 years of life as I have been driving for 46 years. One issue with my 2023 Camry XSE V6 has been MPG. I get an average of 16.99MPG which is 9 below the Average 26MPG advertised on the Camry Window Sticker and all other reviews. 22 City/ 26 Avg,/32 Highway. The Toyota Dealership as I have ToyotaCare (2yr/25K) with purchase of the 2023 Camry, claims that my poor MPG is due to the Michelin CrossClimate2 tires. Well, I highly doubt that, I have had rather poor MPG since taking possession of the Camry and consistently reported as so. I also keep records of every Fillup, Mileage, Odometer reading, Cost per Gallon, and total cost per fillup. I am willing to accept that these All-Weather, they're not Snow nor All-Season, may result in a reduction of 1 to 3MPG or possibly 4MPG, but no way in hell 9MPG. There has to be something wrong with the Camry 2GR-FKS 3.5L V6 Engine or the ECM "Computers that calibrates Fuel / AIr mixture for the Fuel Injectors or could be something else. Surely, the CC2s are not the cause of nearly 30 Percent reduction of MPG. I check regularly that the CC2s are 35/36PSI depending on outdoor temps been as low as 33 and high as 38 PSI. Appears driving will heat up the tires so it increases PSI. With 7,310 miles on the Michelin CC2 they are still like new and very minimal tread wear. The pebbles/stones do collect a bit more in the track grooves. I am used to removing them when I see them, habit of U.S. Navy FOD "foreign object damage" walk downs on aircraft carrier flight decks and at Naval Air Station taxi / Runways since spent nearly 26 years in the Navy. Sorry, anyways Toyota and the dealership will avoid, ignore, provide many reasons or excuses, not to repair or diagnose or spend money fixing a problem with a new vehicle until the Basic 3 yr Warranty/ 5 yr Powertrain Warranty expires as to make you pay the $ thousands $ to fix it. I am battling with Toyota that my 2023 Camry XSE V6 has a fuel consumption problem and trying to convince me that the Michelin CC2s are the problem I should buy new tires or get OE Bridgestone Turanza EL440 tires which I got rid of because Toyota is aware Turanza EL440s are quality defective and a hazardous tire. Toyota has a huge contract with Bridgestone and have been using Turanza EL440 for the last 5 or 6 years out of the factory. The point I am making here is Toyota does not care about your life, all Toyota cares about is your $ money. Just like All Insurance Companies, you pay pay pay as it is mandated by law but when it is time to pay out on a claim is like squeezing water out of a rock. Yes! Michelin CC2s should last 60k miles, some people managed 70k to 80K, and one You Tuber Channel person has driven 100K on the CC2s before replacing them. I believe 1 or 2 people out of 10 may not like these tires and will complain. But if 80 percent of the people like the CC2s, chances are you will too. "You can please some of the people some of the time, but you cannot please all the people all of the time."

That was a lot to read but very informative. I’m not sure what all you’ve learned in the time since, but it seems the loss of MPG is actually quite normal and should level out after driving it for a few thousand miles. Lots of comments report they lost MPG but it pays off in having a tire that lasts longer and it’s safer. Plus once the tire has more wear, the MPG goes back up.

Sorry to hear that. On my 2023 Toyota Camry XSE V6, best tires I've ever had in 46 years of driving and having owned 15 vehicles. I reside in upstate New York, typical winter in the last few years due to climate change and milder winters we are getting about 90 inches of annual snowfall. The CrossClimate2s been on my Camry for 18 months and I've gone through 2 winter seasons. They are quiet, smooth & comfortable ride, handle and grip well on the road. Tire behavior appears to differ depending on Year, Model, and Make of vehicle and that goes with any tire brand you use. As a vehicle ages, all road and tire noise will become more noticeable. If you drive in rural areas, on dirt and gravel roads or roads the are in poor condition, you will hear more noise. The CrossClimate2 tread does pick up more pebbles and stones than other made tires. A stuck pebble caught and stuck in the CC2 tire tread can make noise you are not typical to hearing. I am really amazed how good the Michelin CrossClimate2 tires are but just as no 2 tires are the same, no 2 people are the same, and it goes with automobile, you got a great car and someone with same year, model. make, and trim got a Lemon. Wish you the best and stay safe.

OEM tires are chosen by the manufacturers for 2 specific reasons, how quiet and smooth they are on new cars, and to get the most fuel economy possible for CAFE standards, they dont care about real world traction. Typically OEM tires have mediocre or less than average traction, have a tread pattern that is made to be quiet, are made of a more soft compound, and dont last very long. Also they are typically expensive to replace them compared to so many better tires, but the OEMs can buy them much cheaper. Almost any upgraded tire choice will get less fuel economy, better traction, and make more noise. My Honda pilots Bridgestone dueler HPs went from around 3/4 new to just above the wear bars in a year with regular rotations and constant upkeep of the proper recommended tire pressure. I just got new Cross Climate 2s a week or so ago, installing them this week.

My wife's 2022 Honda Civic Touring bought her Michelin X-Ice Snow on 16-inch steel wheels for winter, the Civic OE are 18-inch alloy wheels with Good Year Eagle Sport tires. The only tires I buy are brand name tires from Continental, Michelin, and Pirelli, sometimes GoodYear. Our 2018 Toyota RAV4 Limited AWD had put Pirelli Scorpion Plus 3 on it. Replaced the lousy Toyo Open Country tires. The 1st Pirelli tires I've ever bought was in 1983 for my 1978 Alfa Romeo Veloce Spider were Pirelli P3s. About 30 years ago, Bridgestone were once a decent tire but no more, just like BF Goodrich. Firestone has not been a good tire since before 1980. My long time ago new 1982 Mustang GT 5.0 302 Boss V8 with T-Tops had OE Firestone 721 tires and went bald before 10k miles. Think I went with Goodyear but don't remember however I refuse to buy Firestones ever again. I won't ever buy Asian made tires. Toyo or Toyota are awful. Because of the way automobiles are made today, putting chains on your tire is one of the worst things you can do, tendancy to break or come apart and damage the car body panels. Better off with studded tires but they too damage the road surface which costs the county and state money.

Mmm..... I live in northern WI, and we get +100 in of snow every year. Cross climates are as good as LM Blizzaks in all winter conditions. WS Blizzaks have better ice traction but they are horrible in every other way. They handle horribly, tramline, they are terrible on wet and dry roads, cannot be used in summer and have a short life, particularly if you drive them in above freezing temps. Unless most of your driving is on compacted snow or ice roads, WS blizzak is a horrible tire. A single trick pony. So, unless you live in the tundra, the snow chops of the cross climate are more than plenty for any winter condition.

@@vincentlouisaerialproduction I'll try to keep it short and excuse my knowledge of English. I drive probably 15'000km per year. Mainly city driving. The tread edges tore off in a matter of a month. Meaning, where you have a sharp 90 degrees turn on the the pattern towards the tire, it is ripped off. Driving on wet is very slippery. Where I live the winter is "meh", it's mostly wet so big con here! The tires have a strange relation with water overall. Once I left the car in an airport underground parking for 2 weeks. It was really humid and the floor was quite wet. For 2 days after I picked up the car the spots where the tires were touching the ground were very stiff and hard. You would hear the noise they made when the previously wet sports would hit the ground. Every time the tires stand in water this happens and it goes away quicker or slower depending on how long it was standing in water. One or two of the 4 tires have permanently harder spot on the tread, at least that's what I think it is. You can hear it, you can feel it in the steering wheel and pedals but not enough to have them returned. The company I bought them in tolled me that and I quote "you are using the tires wrong". I was so dumbfounded I didn't know how to respond! All the tires are balanced and the steering wheel is not "flying" around, it's just slightly vibrating in that one spot. Also I have the same issue as you mentioned, rock picking like crazy ... My main issue is that this is not premium quality tires but you sure pay premium and with so many competitors there is just no point trying Michelin again.
