The original michelin defender was a better tire than the defender 2.

Yes if you consider wet traction particularly. But the main focus of Defender has always been tread life and nobody does it better than the Defender 2.

@@comparethetirenot exactly. Most people are averaging 60k miles on Defender 2 tires. The problem is that at 5/32 or less these tires are horrible in wet weather. So people aren’t keeping them to 80k miles like the warranty says.
