I put the Road 6's on a year ago, (2023) and found they have a similar incremental improvement over the Road 5, 4, and 3. Which are the tyres I had previously used) Every bike I have ever owned has always let air out slowly, so I check the pressures every other fuel fill-up. I can tell when the front pressure drops below 34 psi because the steering becomes heavy. When the rear pressure drops a few psi, I notice more grip and more tread being used at maximum lean angles. At 42 psi, there is a small chicken strip on the edge of the tyre after scraping the pegs, whereas at 38 psi, the whole tread is used. These are great tyres and I wouldn't buy anything else. I have used them for several track days and long-distance touring, wet and dry and they are easily the best tyres I have ridden on. (just expensive but they last much longer than previous tyres. About 50% longer)

I have an 09 Concours 14 and I`m on my 3rd set of Road 6`s and I will not put anything on my monster but these Tires (unless Michelin stops making them for an upgrade). I have the 6 GT`s and I run exactly what Kawasaki says it should have in them 42/42. The 6`s actually make the Concours handle way better than any other Tire I have put on her. I Love the 6`s! I am getting about 11 to 12k miles out of each set.

Hi, I ride a 2008 Suzuki GSX 1400. I'm now on my second set of Road 6's. First set 13,500 kms, only just passed a wof to see if they would pass. Replaced then with my 2nd set of Road 6's. My chicken strip is 5mm and just touching the pegs down. The grip is just phenomenal, wet or dry. They have now done 11,200 kms with a couple of thousand left again. I do like to use the bikes torque out of corners.

Wow, I am so glad I found this clip! I’m on a 2006 Hayabusa and just installed a new set of Road 6’s. Coming from a well worn set of Metzler road tecs, I’m really noticing the difference when entering a turn and it’s EXACTLY how you’ve described it… ok we’re turning and turning and NOW WERE REALLY TURNING. I must admit it was a little spooky😮. However rear was at 42 and fronts at 40( I’m 270lbs) so she’s carrying a lot of weight. I’m gone knock it down 2 lbs on both and see if it makes a difference . Thanks so much for the info!

That the Michelins fall over so easily is one of the things I really like about them. I have been playing with the idea of lowering the pressures a bit with the 1260 Pike’s Peak, but I’ve run all tires on my bikes at about 38 rear and 36 front, though I like the idea of doing a few lbs less, say, like 36 rear 34 front. Perhaps it’s time to try that, or 34 even front/rear. Have run/am running Road 4s and 5s and RSs, and Commander 3s on the H-D EDIT: spelling/tire identification

I’ve got a Triumph Street Triple RS. I go pretty quick on my bike and they’re at 33 front, 42 rear. I ride in warm temperatures averaging 30 degrees Celsius so they warm up pretty quick and pressure goes up by 3psi after 30 mins of riding I find. My oem tires were Pirelli supercorsas which had similar profiles to these Rad 6’s. I find them very similar in how they feel but when it rains the Road 6’s are the better tires by far. They feel glued to the road. Never did I have a moment with the 6’s unlike the Pirelli’s which are sketchy in the wet. Love them.

I run 34 in the front and like 29 in the rear. I noticed a great contact patch and it wore very evenly. I did mess with the pressure when hitting some "track like roads" and bumped it up a tad due to it being still cold out. They had all the traction in the world and actually evenly gummed up on the edges. I got about 5400 miles out of the rear with lots of interstate riding and about 3 or 4 hard riding days. Very happy with the Road 6, still working on the front tire as we speak.

That tall profile of the Road 6 that you talk about I noticed too, I remember driving out onto the road after they were freshly installed and when I weaved it felt like the bike wanted to tip over! went away pretty quickly though maybe 100-200 miles. I forgot to lower my psi for my weekend twisty riding and went out today on 36/37 F/R, it felt quite different. I just didn't have the confidence getting on throttle on corner exits like I normally do. Im going to ride the same route tomorrow and I am going to experiment with 35/34. Last week was the first time dropping from 36 psi on rear to 34 psi for my ride and It did feel better in curves. Im on the fence about getting dedicated sport tires like the power 6 when I need to replace or going with road 6 again. However the mileage of the Road 6 is great I have 5k and the rear looks like it has another 3500, the tires that came on my bike Bridgestone BT016 hypersport only lasted 2800 until cords!

in my world it’s a rain tire that wants to show sportiness, unnecessary Good on wet, cold roads,- one of the best indeed. The drawback is the overheating. It’s slippery like hell, doesn’t matter how you play with the pressure. But predictable at least and fun to ride in supermoto mode :) Actually I have 6000km in the set and left 2k in the rear. I changed the original Pirelli Rosa’s 4’s on my v4 pikes peak at 4000 miles. Changed them for same tyres as they are always softer than the original figment from factory. True to form the 2nd pair are noticeably softer giving great feel , I keep them at 34lbs air front and rear. I’m also very fussy with tyre pressure. I am thinking of getting a pair of Michelin 6’s as my next tyre ,I wanted to ask if the feeling of the bike dropping into corner has got better with more miles on? I like the neutral feel in steering with the Rosa’s 4’s but with planing few trips into Europe soon thought Michelin 6’s would be way to go? 🇬🇧👍

Factory spends thousands of hours and $millions in R&D to came up with the best optimal pressure. So go with it. And the handling…well, different tire, different profile so you need to get used to it. I personally think M6 is not optimal sport tire, its great for my BMW GS, but for your PP I would definitelly chose more “sporty” tire. You simply cannot push M6 as hard as you are used to with those Pirellis.

I would have to agree with you. The purpose of these tires is for a long trip knowing that I’m going to get rain in both directions and also I have experience with these tires where I was able to scrape the pegs on my Multistrada V4S with the Michelin Road six tires. They’re certainly not going to be as sticky as the Pirelli

I dont agree your statement. "Factory spends thousands of hours and $millions in R&D to came up with the best optimal pressure." -> "So go with it." Each person will ride differently, at a different pace, and in different road and weather conditions -> No amount of R&D can tell you what is correct for YOU because it's a general PSI recommendation. That's why when you go to a track day there are usually tire specialist there telling you what PSI they recommend based on the day (conditions and weather) and type of riding you are doing.

The factory gives you a recommendation and not a rule. It is an average quote. I live in a hot climate and after a few minutes of riding when remeasuring my pressure it goes up by 3 psi. You will not have that in a colder climate. The weight of your bike plus rider is another factor as is your type of riding. It is not that simple.

Going with a motorcycle manufactures air pressure rec’s is pretty stupid. All tires are different, have different tread traction at different pressures and temps, and the tires themselves are designed with a certain air pressure for how the compounds, tread, heat, and pressure work best for that tires design. Go with the tire recommended pressures. Yes adjust for your own feel after the tire is broke in but throw that advice of using the motorcycle manufacture rec’s for pressure where it belongs, in the trash can.

@@RemboUSMC Not one that goes to a hundreth of a pound ,no. I mean sure there are such things but I never heard of such being used for a motorcycle. I cant imagine how even a tenth of a pound could impact performance in any noticable way, let alone a 1/100th of a pound. Depends on the size of the tire. Whatever the manufacturer recommends is what I set it at. When I am at the track, .5psi means a lot. It depends on what level you are pushing the bike. On the street with normal riding, you can be off 2-3 psi and probably not realize it. @@bunberrier
