Hard to believe this song is 20 years old...where did all the time go? What a legend!
@BolsaChicaRadio Жыл бұрын
Indeed and I TOTALLY miss those late 90s/early 2000s lady's fashions too...EVERY LADY...was wearing a pair of solid black, hip-hugger slacks with a flared/bell seam at the bottom. The music was great...and those simple but "very effective" PANTS were the fashion statement...it seems like we're back to a very odd version of "Mom Jeans" again, here at the end of 2022. Not appealing at all...at least to me. BCRadio

20 yrs old!?!? Surely you can't be serious?
@BolsaChicaRadio Жыл бұрын
@@RSP7704 Indeed; released on September 23, 2002 through the Arista/BMG Company, produced by record label mogul CLIVE DAVIS. As a matter of fact, Michelle was NOT Clive's first choice of singing the lead, it was a male vocal; GREGG ALEXANDER from "The New Radicals", whose pitch & timbre is right up there with Branch's vocal style. But even after Alexander completed his vocal recording onto the session tape, Mr. Davis was still not happy and...believe it or not...asked the great TINA TURNER to replace Alexander's vocal track! Already in her mid 60's, she agreed and Davis loved the recording, BUT, a music video had to be filmed of the piece and Turner turned that down. Davis then asked MACY GRAY to record the lead, but unfortunately, Davis didn't feel Gray's deep & sultry contralto range did not fit well in the lead vocal spot. It was at that point, MICHELLE BRANCH was commissioned to lay down the final vocal track and participate in the filming of the music video. DANG!!! I knew I should have been Casey Kasem! BCRadio

@allstopblue5717 Жыл бұрын
@@kleinepaal she’s a singer/songwriter. Not a popstar singer. There was a difference back then. Now they’re all the same. Just look pretty. Branch could play guitar and actually write songs and sing live. Nowadays it’s not necessary. Just need to look hot. Nothing else required

Never gonna happen again. I hate to say it but I truly believe it. Things will only get worse. We have our media ti thank for the vast majority of it. CNN, msnbc, Fox, abc, etc, etc. all pushing division day after day. You must hate who they tell you to hate and you must accept who they tell you to accept. Even if it comes down to chopping parts off your child. You must accept it. All in the name of “peace”

I traveled from home in LA to Thailand the year this album came out for Holiday. I was sitting in a GoGo bar with pretty young ladies on each side of me, sipping a cocktail and a Stunner came walking up the runway dancing to this song... I knew that my brothers who fought in the Vietnam war took R and R for a few weeks to the area and bars I was visiting. I was 10yo in 1969. It was a melancholy trip and gave me a connection to those who fought in that war. I’ve been to Santana concerts over several decades, from Ann Arbor, Michigan to home here in SoCal. Long live Carlos Santana!
