Single mom Jessica grew up in the foster care system, which is why she felt compelled to provide a home for other kids in need when she became an adult. Despite already being a mom to two kids, Jessica eventually adopted six boys. Michelle Monaghan gets emotional hearing their story, since her family fostered twelve kids during her childhood.

I was one of 2000 kids raised by my foster parents, they adopted 19 of us. I became a foster parent helped raise around 250 kids. Then became disabled and can no longer foster. Fostering truly was the best thing in my life. God bless all who foster these beautiful kids.

I got adopted at birth but got to be with my adopted parents from 3 months to now. my birth mother lived in a terrible place and never took care of me, i grew up being thankful and being so hopeful. Growing up with an adopted family, it was hard but i got through it. Now im 22 and My adoptive parents passed when i was 15 and 17 years old. It was hard and now i have support from my family friends. RIP Mom and Dad😭💔

I wasn't adopted or anything, but for years I nearly got taken away from my home due to some childhood trauma and them thinking it's still going on. I couldn't even imagine how my life would have been if I had gotten taken away, I just turned eighteen which means I'm in the clear :) but to whoever was ever in the system or still is. I wish you the best in life, y'all are truly amazing. I am definitely 100% going to adopt.

my biological parents started doing long term foster care since my earliest memories, i was maybe 4 years old when we got our newest edition to the family. i was raised with at least 8-10 brothers & sisters at any given time. most siblings my parents would take to court to be legal guardians & make their place in our family permanent. of my couple decades on this earth, ive maybe only had an hour of jealousy in my life due to my parents doing foster care. i would not change it for the world. my brothers & sisters shaped me into who i am. we may not have the same DNA, but my family will ALWAYS be my genuine family til my last breathe! God bless the humans out there willing to open their hearts & homes.

Coffee Panda if you don’t mind me asking, how old are you now? Also, have you ever given any thought to trying to find a way to help kids with similar situations to yours learn and develop what I call “real life adult time” skills? I’m not wealthy or anything, but I’ve been lucky enough to make and keep friends that have some money and influence. I’m also lucky enough to be gifted a set of balls that are titanium and I’m not afraid to present anything to anyone at anytime. Just food for thought. Good luck to you no matter what happens and God Bless you!

It might be that when they were approved for fostering they had to pick one sex and having boys it probably made sense to go with boys. I know many programs won't let you foster both sexes at the same time and since initially it wasn't a goal of adoption... I could totally be wrong, but based on what I've seen, that my guess.
