Yes she did.... she had Michelle Kuan (a proffesional figure skater) teach her and plus the girl who plays Nikki (Kirsten Olsen) is an figure skater in real life.

Ice Princess was one of my favorite movies as a kid because I was a figure skater, but honestly it's so inaccurate in that there is no way you can learn your jumps and spins that quickly. You can't just get that good in a year, and it is extremely rare to place second after a fall. Still, I must admit this is an amazing movie. I still love it, flaws and all.

Well, also keep in mind that Casey already knew stuff in the beginning. Yes, it may be inaccurate, but its a small detail that most people overlook.

haha and yes she can't place second after not getting up immediately after the fall and staring at the audience for few seconds x) but i likes this movie as a kid too

michelle did very little of this skating. she learned some moves but a stunt double did all but one of the more complicated ones. how some people can be so dim they believe someone can become this good in less than a year is a mystery to me.

Really? I didn't think so. It depends on where you fall, at what part of the program, on which element(s); how long it takes for you to get up and resume from where you left off, etc. And what if several skaters fall? They can't *All* be in last place, lol.
