Why are women having to ask grown men to pick up after themselves? I don’t like the idea of “asking for help” when it is also their living space.

Altho' I agree, some people don't care about mess. My ex didn't care about a messy house - altho' they did like it clean. My cousin (female) doesn't care about a messy house either... some ppl are just like that. Honestly, if someone doesn't care, you can't make them care. Just like if you don't care about his car, he can't make you care about his car (that's an example, you fill in the item, I just randomly chose cars). Just because you have a strong opinion about something (he SHOULD care and pick up after himself), doesn't mean your opinion is a fit for everyone. We're all human, we all have our preferences and priorities. When there's an issue I can't be flexible with, I try to find someone who has the same priorities. I hope you don't fall in love with someone who's ok with a messy house, if you're not willing to accept him as he is. Something I try to remember when I'm upset about something: Would I rather be 'right', or be in relationship? That thought always helps me come back to the present moment and realize it is what it is, and I can either make myself miserable by being upset about it, or I can just be ok with reality as it is. Hope that's helpful.

@@jfdc8432 I’m not a neat freak but my husband would take off his socks and throw them wherever and I finally just left them there for WEEKS. The bottom line is it is about respect. He just didn’t care but he knew I cared. He just didn’t want to pick up after himself so he didn’t. Wouldn’t it be great if it was socially acceptable for us all to do that?
@babajaiy824610 ай бұрын
"Why are women having to ask grown men to pick up after themselves?" Why do women expect men to live domestically like their preferences? That's a rhetorical question to highlight something deeper - Because you are making assumptions. And btw - I've had the same experience with a partner but it was more extreme - And I had to pick up/clean after them if I wanted a more orderly/clean household - They just couldn't do it, it wasn't in them.

I always learn something from Dr. Gray. Sometimes it’s just reminders or rephrasing of important information. Thank you for allowing him to talk and being a great listener. ❤. I had a man not come to visit for 3 weeks., he was at his camp 3 hrs away and he said, “you must be mad because I havent seen you for 3 weeks. I said, no, I know you were having a good time…and I’ve been busy too. I could see his sense of relief that I wasn’t upset.

I love John Gray’s interviews with Michelle. But sometimes I think he’s asking women to treat a man like a child. Children make a mess and don’t want to tidy up. I want him to coach men to change and grow up.

Great advice, there's so many tips techniques and tricks that it's sometimes hard to know where to start. But it's not rocket science to get your man shivering with ecstasy just by changing the way you talk. As simple as this sounds, maybe try escalating it a step at a time, go’ogle something like Words of Desire by Celestine Dessike to sneakily crawl into his mind and let it build on from that.
