I remember attending a Tammy concert in 1985. She was fantastic!! I waited afterward around her tour bus, with a few others to get her to autograph a photo I had purchased. She came out of the venue and she was so gracious and kind! Unfortunately, the next week I attended a Reba McEntire concert at the same venue and while the concert was great, Ms. McEntire was extremely rude and ungracious when I asked her to autograph a photo book I had purchased. Ms. McEntire had just won the first of her many Female Vocalist awards and was signing autographs after the show in the lobby. I never bought another of her records. She could take some lessons from gracious Tammy who knew it was the fans who put her where she was. Tammy Wynette was truly one of a kind and God Bless Her.

always imagined that, even though Reba presented herself as this sweetheart of country music, that she could be a, ahem, bitch. As WE all can be at times. Please, Reba fans, don't think I'm anti-Reba McEntire, cause I'm not. Seen her twice in concert, have many of her CD's, videos, ect....but, sadly, never had the opportunity to see the Goddess of country music, Tammy Wynette in concert. A few years ago, CMT presented their opinion as to the Top 100 Female Vocalists in Country Music....the top 5 were: 5. Reba McEntire 4. Dolly Parton 3. Loretta Lynn 2. Tammy Wynette 1. Patsy Cline.

What a loss to Country Music. I worked the Jamboree from 1969 till it shut down due to Live nation taking it over. So miss seeing the old Country performers live. Rest In Peace Tammy. The late, great Tammy Wynette will always remain the queen and first lady of country music. Her voice had such a range and she could convey her emotions to the listeners and bring tears to one's eyes where one could empathize and sympathize with her instantly. Not only was she stunningly beautiful. Her elegance and talent made her so regal and respected. Over the years I have always loved blues and rock and roll and jazz. Over the last ten years I have loved and respected the icons of Country Western. From Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. I am thankful that I have finally learned to respect and appreciate Country Western. I am still old school and appreciate the artists from the 40's through the 80's. There is talent in CW currently. But they do not hold a candle to the marvelous icons of the past, such as Tammy, Loretta. Patsy and Johnny Cash and Hank Williams Sr,. They were marvelous pioneers and made Country Western music a regular, outstanding part of of our musical culture.

I'm from Brazil but I've always liked country music since I was in my teens but old country singers have always been the best cause they sang their hearts out and with much humility. They didn't sing thinking they could become rich of course they had to survive but they had so much pure love for music and all the sorrow and pain they went through they were able to put it into songs which still make us feel sometimes sad happy and above all more sensitive to this world that seems so tough and hard to bear sometimes. Thank God!! Lord has given us good singers to appreciate. Tks for sharing good concerts.
