thank you so much. I have a question: the power consumed by the motor is it the real or reactive power since the motor have both inductances and resistor coils?
@MichelvanBiezen7 ай бұрын
By definition, the power consumed = I^2 R The induced current will be in the opposite direction of the current that drives the motor, but the equation still holds.

I'd recommend one small correction. You used Watts as the unit for Apparent Power (S). This would typically use VA for the units.

You are correct. Thank you for the input.

How can i calculate the reading of the input power given the output power, power factor, efficiency and voltage of 3 phase
@abdeldjalilyahi33222 жыл бұрын
Professor, isn't it the unit of apparent power : Volt-ampere (VA) and not Watts (W)... I think you made an oblivious mistake there.
@MichelvanBiezen2 жыл бұрын
Technically you are correct.

Thank you sir I have a question please I have a motor nameplate, the information given : I = 27.13 A V = 415 V Output power = 15 kw And p.f is 0.87 When i used the method which you have explain i got 0.76 p.f and it does not matching p.f which is given ( 0.87) 😅
@MichelvanBiezen2 жыл бұрын
The power factor does depend on the load and the power consumed (I^2 R) versus the power provided (IV).
