Tatyos Ekserciyan (1858-March 13, 1913), or Tatyos Efendi, was a famous composer of classical Turkish music, and his works continue to be among the best-remembered and often played pieces of the genre.An Armenian from Istanbul, Tatyos Efendi was born in 1858 in the Ortaköy district of Istanbul as the son of Monakyan (Manuti), a musician at the Ortaköy Armenian Church. Tatyos Efendi's family had a minor trading business and when he finished the Ortaköy Armenian Elementary School.

Well that's a lie, he died in 1913 because of natural causes. Come on! Armenian Composers' and Architects' success in Ottoman Empire is respect worthy for both Ottoman Empire and Armenian citizens in the empire. Stop with the propaganda and enjoy the music.

I'm from Saudi Arabia...I find it extremely difficult to believe Armenians claims of what they call the Ottoman genocide against them....they take every chance to repeat this claim...I really think they use it for political and ethnic reasons...forgive me but It's old and useless tactics. Thank you.

Mamuk Berkay This is not Turkish or Arab maqam, this is Kurdish and "Sama'i Kurd" itself explaines all, which means music or maqam that belong to Kurds. There are thousands of this kind of maqam being sing in Kurdistan and stolen by Turks by presenting as Turkish or Arabic. The root of this music is Kurdistan mountains.
@JacobA666
@JacobA666 10 жыл бұрын
That being said, needless to mention that this Sama'i piece is not based on Maqam Kurd, rather Maqam Hijaz Kar Kurd. And it's called "Sama'i Hijaz Kar Kurd" not "Sama'i Kurd" as you're claiming.
@nebuckhadnezzar
@nebuckhadnezzar 10 жыл бұрын
That means Kurdified Sama'i hijazkar, so what is different between Kurdified maqam or "Sama'i Kurd" ? as you are playing Kurdi maqam here ;)

There are many Kurds, Armenians, Albanians made great work in art, music but all calimed by Turks, Arabs as if its their culture for trading and self satisfaction, most of mosques in Istanbul built by Armenians and even Dolmabahce Palace! and many songs, artists from Kurdistan as well. So better to refer to correct people while spreading something otherwise its false and they call it plagiarism in academic world if you dont refer to the right person :)
