At 2:14, those are telephone and possibly CTV cables, not “electrical wires.” You can tell both by their position on the poles and the splice cases visible near their attachment points. Both use only low voltage and pose no electrocution risk. Power lines, on the other hand, are always at or very near the tops of poles, for reasons made obvious by this sad footage.

@thatoneguy6112 жыл бұрын
The issue wasn’t the dam’s age, it was the spillways not having enough capacity, allowing for the water levels to rise too high and push down the dam.

Now days I think people well hopefully learn not to attach themselves to material things too much....only because life is so fragile and the main thing out of all this we will weather any storm and pandemic and continue to survive. God Bless.

Why are we always told that dams are for flood control, but the way they are managed creates more flooding? Why are most dams filled up with water and then they maintain the basins behind the dams at a mostly full level? Maintaining mostly full basins provides almost zero holding capacity during large rain events. Why wouldn't it be more beneficial to maintain basins at very low levels, so that during large rain events, the basins would need to fill up before any flooding would occur? If basins are already full to begin with, wouldn't almost all of the water from the large rain event be all flood water? All the dams within a watershed could be maintained at a mostly wide open state with low water levels, and then after a large rain event, all the dams along the river could partially close, so each are slowly filling up their basins all at once, with some filling up faster, but all raising their levels together controlling the flow. Then increase the closing of the dams as needed to hold back more water. This would provide an enormous amount of holding capacity compared to the current so called management plans of today.

It’s not historic flooding it’s a dam failure. If it’s flooding then no insurance will pay if it’s a dam failure then it someone’s fault. If it’s a company owned dam why was it not maintained. If it was regulations that made the dam owner’s shut down why couldn’t the government maintain the dam that was not productive for a company.
