Kid will be a key contributor on defense after a year in the strength and conditioning program. I can see him being a good special teams player as a freshman. This kid reminds me of a few different edge guys we had over the past few years. #GoBlue

It seems like Michigan is using the "boa constrictor" strategy they employ to win games in recruiting as well. They got off to a slow start but are dominating, racking up high end players now.

If Holly plays as well as Harrell played last year, I'll be extremely happy. Harrell was the most consistent EDGE during a national championship season.

I look at AVG rank of recruits a lot. MI about 7/8 range. So if quality holds up.👍. Frankly top 3 desirable - but 7/8 range adequate to compete at Elite level with key portal gets.

@@scottlaux6934 True - but with 6/7 year players - 5* QB/RB multiple elite transfer portal gets and OSU/AL with first year QB’s - and it took almost 30 years - a tipped pass catch - and Jim Harbaugh. Not likely sustainable - even 7/8 might be tough going forward - to remain elite. Good news is 2nd even 3rd in the B1G gives you a shot to get to semis maybe steal a Natty here and there.

@@Jon.A.Scholt Loronzetti // Taraboi 2017 Barrett more famous 6th from 2018. Understand the point - too - rather than chirp. Lots and lots of very experienced players - who developed much more than typical elites 3 years and gone. 27 years between Natty’s not really elite. Harbaugh worked a miracle - and needed the portal and Raven DC Coach pipeline - or would have been NE/PSU/ND/Miami. Not many Leveon Bell’s Kirk Cousins - usually takes a Vince Young Cam Newton Hershel Walker Tony Dorsett to get a 2nd tier team to win a Natty. Quinn Ewers maybe Milroe was the “worst” QB in last year playoffs. And they beat AL/GA. Takes big talent to win BIG - even more to win consistently .

@@markmajkowski9545 O, I understand "the point" and have actual data to back it up. The point is, the whole "Michigan is full of 6/7 year players" is completely false. Of the players who actually played, that is, the Top 35 players by snap count, the breakdown by class is as follows. 2 6th year, 9 5th year, 9 4th year, 7 3rd year, 8 2nd year, 0 1st year. So this notion "They were exceptionally experienced", by age, is just incorrect. Their experience by class was extremely uniformed. Compare that with Washington whose distribution was as follows: 10 6th years, 11 5th years, 10 4th years, 2 3rd years, 2 2nd years, 0 first years. Washington was actually the team everyone says Michigan was; full of essentially nobody except for Covid exemptions and seniors. Also, Loronzetti is a junior this year, not a 7th year player last year and he hasn't played at all, so I don't see how he is significant. I'm sure you could point to walk ons on Michigan who were 6th year players but you could literally do that with every team. They don't play, so their contribution is extremely negligible.

belleville players have shunned michigan for a while, which is a potential shame from a talent standpoint as they've developed a strong program. then again, i remember one highly ranked kid from belleville (davontae dobbs) called the michigan coaches "robots". he underwhelmed for sparty and ended up playing for davenport in the GLI last season. the point is that even if they have good players, how they get there is a concern; their coach finally got accused of undue influence in recruiting players to go to belleville. if they're induced to go to belleville, i'd expect them to expect a "lil' sumthin sumthin" as an inducement to commit to a college program, and as ej holland noted, michigan doesn't pay for players. while they might be talented, they'd be a cancer to the team culture that exists in ann arbor. even harbaugh hater finebaum did a 180 and described michigan football as "the epitome of what a college program should be" after observing the selfless nature of the team culture. 2026 commit brady hart committed to michigan the same day he got an offer from duh osu after attending one of their camps earlier that day and later stated that after visiting columbus, he knew that the culture at michigan doesn't exist at other schools.
