Harbaugh wasn't staying, man, get over it. I love Jim but he was killing our recruiting. Knock it off!
@florida12892 ай бұрын
He wasn't killing our recruiting necessarily if he stayed because Harbaugh didn't need elite recruits. Moore on the other hand does and he's convinced the people that need convincing that paying recruits is the right approach to getting those elite players. I completely agree with you that Harbaugh was always gone. There's a reason Harbaugh recommended Moore as he knew this was the man to spearhead change at Michigan which he's done.

Manual gets a 3 from me. I will never see him as an elite AD ever since not locking down Harbaugh after the 2022 season...should have given him 10 years $100 mil. I will never understand what the hell he was thinking after two straight wins against OSU, 2 straight Big Ten Championships, and two straight trips to the CFP. Then came 2023, WM left him hanging in the wind...JH had said multiple times he just wanted to feel as if he was wanted...to get some love. WM still sat on it for too long, then tried to keep him from leaving at the last minute. Worst handling of such a situation I have ever seen.
@jimbobsmith24962 ай бұрын
There was zero chance Jim was going to stay long term, and if he did there is zero chance we would be getting Underwood or a high recruit class. Just look at what Jim left us with for next year, a whole 2 recruits when Moore took over, and we haven’t had a top 10 class since 2017 when we were 5. Jim wanted to get back to the NFL since the day he left, his goal was always to go back which is why he flirted with them year after year.

Unfair to expect Underwood to be a day one starter
@chriswilliams30842 ай бұрын
Maybe. But there are precedents for such a situation, both at Michigan and other places. If he's ready he's ready. And technically, any QB who has not taken a snap in a game, and making their first start in the first game of the season, regardless of class, starts on day one, like red shirt freshman Scott Dreisbach. He had never taken a snap in a college game, and yet, in late Aug of '95. in "The Pig Skin Classic", he led Michigan to, what was up until that point, the biggest comeback win ever for the Wolverines at The Big House. With about 11 minutes to go in the 4th quarter, M was down to Virginia 17-0. M ended up winning on the last play of the game, as Dreisbach completed a pass to Mercury Hayes in the back, right corner of the endzone. M won 18-17. If Underwood is ready, then he should start. I'll leave that decision to the coaches who, hopefully, will know after working with him through the off season.
@MichiganTV2 ай бұрын
I think he has a great shot at being QB1
@TUCKnFLINT2 ай бұрын
@freeclimb5487 huh? There's been plenty of true freshman qbs to start and perform very well. And when you're called "generational" it's not out of the realm of possibility to expect him to be qb1 right away especially with the current qb room situation.
@c-note37162 ай бұрын
Michigan should get the head coach of Maryland. He can develop QB’s and he’s an offensive genius. Look at what they did against Michigan when Tuan’s little brother was there. They almost beat Michigan each time. We cannot miss on a OC this year, we have the weapons to win another national championship. #GOBLUE🏈🏈🏈 #nobandwagon

Warde Manuel ranking is 2. He's been riding the coat tails of Michigan victories. Don't bother reaching out to the best coaches Michigan has ever had, and it was made perfectly clear him, and Coach Harbaugh did not see eye to eye. Or Coach Harbaugh would still be the head coach at Michigan. Said it himself he would stay but that wasn't up to him. And when all hope was already lost, and he had to move on, here comes Manuel with a contract. And the contract couldn't be changed to where Coach Harbaugh wouldn't be fired. Now... do you blame Coach Harbaugh. No, he had to move on. He was forced, too. That's my opinion. Saw a window and Manuel couldn't get his stuff together and swallow his ego like he got those wins.

#1 If whoever the consideration is isn't familiar with the spread offense or can work with a dual threat quarterback and understand the RPO cannot be a consideration. #2 RichRod should be on that list- yes, I mentioned it - he is the Michigan bought over at the time. Ohio State bought Urban Meyer over and would have worked if they would have actually let him coach, he is a phenomenal offensive coordinator and he has one hell of a quarterback and running back recruiter I think until An actual OC can be found. I think that Sherrone Moore needs to take over those duties because it's his system that won the national championship for michigan. That way, he can take his time and find the right fit - Whatever michigan does they have to be savvy with the RPO and not obstruct the smash-mouth element I heard Byron Leftwich's name out there as well - that may not be bad cause he's a pro like Wink Martindale and he's also spread savvy. This is a critical position, Moore needs to make a smart choice
@Jleed9892 ай бұрын
Who says we need to go to the spread? It was a disaster under RR and doesn’t work in the big ten. Now some form of the power spread that Ohio ran under urban Meyer might be what we are looking for
@woodshed_moments2 ай бұрын
@Jleed989 You have neither the slightest clue what's going on, nor what you're talking about. If you paid attention to the last 3 seasons, we've HAD the spread Because we've had a dual threat and a mobile QB, That is unless you forgot what JJ. Mccarthy was the latter. It's what won the national championship. I would seriously qualify your remarks before you make them - There's a paradigm shift in the way the game is played. The pocket passer is more of a liability. Because you can't run the R. PO scheme out of it, which is really complimentary football with the speed of today's passrush. On the defensive side.... Go, let your eyes catch up with your mouth and observe what's going on? What's the game before you go popping off

Drew Henson was supposed to be the best thing since sliced bread,, and look how that turned out.. 2001 M was stacked and loaded for an NC run. Henson left for the Yankee organization when Steinbrenner made him an offer, who is *coincidentally* an OSU alum. But the real lesson is not to make deals with Dad to not take a QB the following year. Take a QB every year is the lesson to take from this, and this current season is yet another reminder why. I've heard Underwood was told M would bring in a QB from the portal and he was OK with that.

Imagine just rehashing other people work slapping it together and claiming it as your own journalism. How come you haven’t broken any crystal balls if ur a so called “insider” yet to see the name James Yoder next to a recruit

Honestly I would have preferred Brady Hart. Oh well.

I think Ohio State beat themselves because they refused to throw the ball. But it doesn't matter; Ohio State is in the playoffs, while Michigan is not. Michigan is about to get hammered by the NCAA. Ohio State is not. The Big Ten season and the game against Michigan don't mean as much as they used to. The only thing that matters is the playoffs. We are like the NFL now.
