Went back and watched JJ's run, and he got to the 3 yard line at a minimum. He may have got that all the way to the 2 where they spotted him. The Indiana announcer was waaaay off with his 5 yard line estimate.
@jamesbowen89609 ай бұрын
Michigan has been getting stiffed on spots vs. Ohio State for years. The game in 21 in AA was particularly egregious. They were down 14-10 and Cade hit Cornelius Johnson and he should have been spotted at half yard line and for some inexplicable reason they spotted him at the two yard line. They made it as tough as they possibly could on Michigan. Then Haskins dove over to put them ahead and they never relinquished the lead! It was the play of the game!
@charsiniganhoodish9 ай бұрын
@@hayfieldhermit9657 yep when you slow it down frame by frame you can see his last step in bounds is in between the 3 and 4 yard line and as he's diving out of bounds the ball is in his right hand so it's going to be in bounds a bit longer than the rest of his body. Probably should've been around the 2 1/2 instead of the 2 exactly, but the announcer saying around the 5 is absolutely bonkers.
@hayfieldhermit96579 ай бұрын
@@charsiniganhoodish yup. Maybe got half a yard gifted. That's going to happen when people run an angle out of bounds with the ball stretched out. It's hard to tell exactly without multiple camera angles an a review.
@carlicehouse9 ай бұрын
4:45. Gotta love the homer announcers. JJ's feet were still inbounds at the 3.5 yd line. Spotting it at the 2 is far closer to reality than the 5 like hoosier 1 and hoosier 2 were whining about. You'd think a guy whose job it is to call football games would have an understanding on how spotting works.

@hailhailtomichigan19184 ай бұрын
Sorry for the late reply. Was just going through the old videos and saw this. Some schools will actually upload radio broadcasts for their games somewhere on their athletics website usually in their media/videos sections but these are pretty rare and I haven't noticed any that had games more than a year or 2 old. Seems like a newer feature that they are using (most schools have the same templates/designers for their site). Other than that, if the school is on the Varsity radio app the games will be archived but only for a week, you can't go back and listen to older games. I do a little pre-game scouting to see if our opponent uploads full radio broadcasts on their athletics site or if they're on the Varsity app. If so I just go and record the game some point after. If they're not, I find a live stream of the radio call and record it live.

I think you meant drag, but if the purpose of these videos were to drag the commentators, I would leave things in like this guy thinking a 8 yard pass from Jack Tuttle to Tyler Morris was caught by JJ McCarthy. He corrected himself pretty quickly but it was so dumb I cut it out for his sake. Or I'd leave in him whining for a flag on their punt in the 4th quarter when their punter clearly flopped. I go out of my way to cut down/out clips where the commentators might say something that is wrong/makes them look bad. Sometimes it's unavoidable and in these cases I let the clip run longer than I otherwise would to allow them to correct themselves (the Benjamin Hall runs in this video being an example of that) Another example this week was them crediting a Michigan player I never even heard of with a tackle on a play I would have included otherwise but they never even corrected themselves so I left it out since it wasn't that significant of a play. Sometimes, the announcers are butthurt in the process and that can be entertaining too but this really is the first one in this entire series dating back to us kicking your teams ass last year (kzbin.info/www/bejne/jJ-znIZnaNJ9ldU) that the commentator (color guy wasn't that bad) was a crybaby, so I had to leave a couple of those in. George Blaha will top him next week and I'll make a rivalry exception for including all of his whining and idiocy.
