I'm a Penn State fan. I would call this call technically defensible but very ticky tack - King makes contact but it's very light contact that doesn't get called most of the time. I hope some Michigan fans would admit also that this was a HORRIBLE throw by McCarthy. His throw put King between Barner and the ball! Our radio guys were also reacting in real time. In real time, this looked like a no call on either guy, or maybe an OPI. And as I've said elsewhere, if you aren't going to call Johnson for DPI on our first scoring possession, then the call on King is a joke.

The thing about Michigan is that they really don't have any weaknesses whatsoever. They are the only team this year that can say that. Consider these objective grades: Head coach: A. Assistant coaching staff: A Pass defense; best in nation: A/A plus.Will Johnson is the best DB in America, and yet Mike Sainristil will likely be named All Big 10 and / or All American. Linebackers: B+ to A- Defensive Line: A plus plus plus. 2nd string D Line front 4 : Literally also an A. Overall Team Depth : Solid A. Special Teams including FG kicker and Punter : B+ Tight Ends: A Wrs : Wilson/ Cornelius" The Buckeye Slayer" Johnson. Smaj Jordan : A- Offensive Line: Both Guards will make All American and are the best in football . Their second string is headed to the NFL one day, so their depth is staggering there: A. QBs: JJ McCarthy then Tuttle, then Alex Orgi then Warren : A to A+ . Running backs : Blake " The Great" Corum and versatile Donovan" The Don " Edwards are literally the best pair of RBs since 1944 through 1946 Army's great backfield of Davis and Blanchard ....A to A plus. Michigan could "conceivably " be beaten even with head coach Harbaugh on the sidelines by Ohio State, Georgia, Washington, Bama ,Oregon, or Washington...but only on Michigan's worst day. In short ,they are NOT invincible but the Wolverines ARE the only team that is dominating all year and which has zero weaknesses anywhere. Had Michigan decided not to send a message to its petty critics and the sleazy witch hunters in the NCAA over a nothing matter involving an archaic old outdated rule from the last century that provides absolutely ZERO advantage to ANY team today, and instead of vanilla running the ball up the gut 32 straight times into arguably the 2nd best D line in football, chosen to pass the ball 32 straight times ! ,know that Michigan would still have won easily. They have so many weapons and ways to beat opposing foes. Dominating. Cripes, UM's defense alone in at least 3 of their 10 games ,scored enough points by itself to have prevented the opponent from winning EVEN IF the UM offense had never gone out onto the field. That is a shocking statistic. Folks, obtaining signals in ANY way shape or form is something all teams try to do but is ZERO reason why UM is dominating. Just ask their last 3 opponents! Case closed.
@ernestkovach33057 ай бұрын
@derekjones5728 Don't totally disagree with your P.O.V. but you're dead wrong about that D line .Every opposing coach's FIRST warning to their O lines and QBs, no doubt, is this: "They have 2 waves of an NFL caliber front 4 on that UM D line. We can not run against this brick wall consistently. Nobody has. So, yes, we have to pass, which means" no matter what", you can't just stand there in the pocket and go through all your progressions or hang on to the football. Throw it fast like you've never ever released it so fast, or else UM will crush you." We know this how? A. Eye test. B. The shockingly low QB stats clearly indicate at or below 50 % passing completion percentages! You can protest all you want and say, " Yes, but that's because UM's D backs are the best in the nation." They are. However, one reason for the consistently AWFUL opposing QB stats and its utter dearth of TDs and abysmally LOW passing completion % is because QBs are loathe to stand brave in the pocket with 4 UM oncoming locomotives barrelling past opposing Offensive lineman!Also, in addition to this truth, UM is among the leaders in tackles for loss. Based on the totality of circumstances, And the fact UM has the by far #1 scoring defense in the nation and has not allowed any TDs on first and goal inside the 10 yard line and only 1 or 2 plays from that short distance,I stand by both this vast array of stats- and the clear eye test seeing opposing QBs run for their life to avoid getting hurt via a sack and throwing ball after ball away almost comically to nowhere near any uncovered receiver - as proof positive that UM's somewhat lack of sacks is - in their case- not a meaningful stat. They are unquestionably the best and most feared and ferocious 2 deep DLine wrecking crew in America where an A grade is not sufficient to indicate their devastating IMPACT thus far in their dominating undefeated season.This actual TEACHER known to be a very STRICT but fair grader stands by the A + grade for that D line. Speed quickness, toughness,size, intelligence/ presence of mind, and discipline along UM's front 4 D line is without peer. A + . Class dismissed! The rest of your comments are arguably somewhat valid . Case closed.

They have weaknesses. They didn’t contain Allan in the pocket. Didn’t sack him. Barnhart got worked early and often at RT Henderson rebounded from a shaky performance against Purdue and blocked well. Pass protection is an issue Game 10 and JJ still hasn’t thrown a ball away out of bounds. That’s sounds positive, but it’s not. Dude doesn’t need to extend EVERY play.
@ernestkovach33057 ай бұрын
@Mr.Martini549 Please full stop making a fool out of yourself and quit while you are behind. The PSU QB , 5 star coming out of high school, on his home field before a capacity and near PSU record crowd completed way less than 50 % of his passes at just 10 for 22 for cripes sake. He passed for only 80 yards ... note, not 80 yards in the 1st quarter, 80 yards for the ENTIRE GAME. He was at 3 yards per completion. The " reason" was because of constant Defensive front 4 pressure. Case closed. Michigan chose deliberately to run. McCarthy was a whopping 7 for 8 passing, so it's smply flat out false that Barnhart getting beat a mere once or twice forced UM to run. Only a moron would say that. JJ was 7 for 8 for cripes sake, AND JJ had POSITIVE QB rushing yards for the game, even including sacks.Michigan's massive,cerebral, fast, powerful, super strong O Line has zero weaknesses and with almost zero exceptions destroyed PSU's nation leading rushing defense. Repeat: POSITIVE RUSHING FOR the QB. Now that you get an F- for your ignorance, jealousy, and falsehoods let me tell you the actual primary reason WHY the Wolverines decided to rush the ball against the then #1 rushing defense in the NATION : Because UM was sending a moral Message to the forces of Evil and their hypocritical, petty, disingenuous sleazy , insulting immoral, anti UM bigotry over a meaningless nothing incident involving an archaic rule from last century which provides ZERO advantage to any team nowadays regardless of how they acquire opposing signals, and which the scumbags at the NCAA were already discussing said rule's total elimination anyway. There ,that about covers it. The Truth. Message delivered. The 32 rushes in a row ate up clock, resulting in multiple Wolverine first downs and 3 rushing TDs to be sure. The shocking strategy had everything to do with showing UM's jealous hateful critics that they can take their fake whining accusations and shove it up their justly humiliated and embarrassed fannies. Mission accomplished. Case closed. Michigan has ZERO weaknesses and they are the most dominant team in college football this year . Class dismissed.
