We discovered your channel when we started researching our trip to the UP next summer, and even though you are State fans (Go Blue! LOL!), we love it! You guys do a great job on campsite and state park reviews! They have been very helpful. We are going to check out your non-Michigan videos too since we plan to start traveling more now that I'm retired. My wife and I really want to like Mitchell, but most of the campground feels overly crowded and has no privacy. It's not uncommon for Michigan State Parks. Most inside loops crowd people in so much it resembles a refugee camp at times. One notable exception is Holly State Recreation Area. We love that park! It's our go to for Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends. Twenty minutes from home and you feel like you are in the deep woods up north! :) Keep up the good work!

Thank you so much for this nice comment. We're glad you're finding our videos useful! Many state parks in Michigan, and in other states) are geared primarily toward weekend campers out to have fun with friends, get some fishing or other outdoor recreation done, and then head home. So we agree with you on the style of Mitchell State Park, but it is very popular. Congrats on your retirement. We hope you get to do lots of traveling and enjoy this beautiful country. One more thing, I have driven by that park numerous times on my way “up north”, and I worked for the Department of Natural Resources, and I never knew about the canal! Your information is superb concerning all the parks. Seriously, I don’t know why you don’t have more subscribers!
