Great video. I especially enjoyed your editing; how you would find a rock, intersperse it with footage back at the shop cutting it open and showing the reveal and then return back to the field. I also like the drone footage showing the overall surroundings.

I love how generous the rockhounding community is. You are all so supportive of each other! Great job on finding all the petrified wood, Nancy! I am from Alberta, where the Provincial Rock is petrified wood, and it is indeed everywhere. Once your brain knows what to look for, your eyes see it more often, if that makes sense. Anyway, love your videos. So much fun. Almost as good as being there.

Thanks for the nice comments. My favorite rock to find would be a large, well banded Lake Superior agate. The great ones are elusive. I also love finding banded chert as some pieces are really impressive and they polish up well.

I'm glad I stuck that little segment in there. People sometimes ask for me to show the tumbled rocks in the same video where I found them. I don't think those people realize how long it takes to tumble rocks. I think this was a good compromise.

It's fun there. The variety isn't nearly as good as in Michigan in my opinion, but I like Montana agates and they were so easy to find there. Last time I went I didn't do nearly as well though.

We were on a tight travel schedule so we only hunted rocks for a few hours. The agates were plentiful. It was hard to pull ourselves away.

I agree with Nancy. We were there for about two and a half hours. Normally what you said is true. Five to seven hours distilled down to 20 minutes makes it look pretty good.

I went to the Rhone river near Nice, France this summer; I hoped that, because the Rhone comes from the mountains I'd be able to found some cool agates but nope. Got some quartz at most, pretty disappointed :( How I'd love to go treasure hunting in the US (and be able to come back home with my findings)!

Rob .. Nancy is more correct than not with regard to chert and jasper... they are minerally the same with jasper being called that because of the color... the preferred gemmy jewelry colors so I. Theory jasper and chert bands...

Yes, a friend of mine says that if it has bright colors, it's jasper. If it has dull colors, it's chert. I think that's pretty much correct.
