I love your channel. That chipmunk says it all. Sometimes I feel like you're the sister I never had lol! Too much in common! When I first bought my cabin in NC and started coming up here about 20 years ago to remodel it, I would put sunflower seeds in different places all around my cabin, but mostly just outside the bedroom window. I had a fairly nice camera with a couple good lenses and I would have coffee in bed in the morning with my camera and the birds and the squirrels and yes you guessed it, the chipmunks. They could empty feeders daily but I didn't mind because I loved them. Still do. I guess they got used to seeing me so I didn't frighten them since I was on the other side of the glass anyway. One morning the feeders were empty and one little chipmunk climbed up on my window and was looking right at me probably 4 or 5 feet away and I heard him say, "you got any more of them seeds you been puttin' out"? lol! I did, and I went out and fed them and that's sort of how it's been since then. I've never had one eat out of my hand tho. That was too good! And that view over the lake. God's country! ❤❤

Awe! You’re so sweet. Thank you! Chipmunks are quite tame and you’ll see in a future video he and Lenny almost nose to nose! So cute. I was visiting with him again today and noticed a parasite growth on his side, just like how that packrat had last year. Poor guy. I noticed he prefers his almonds without the skins on though! I just might have to have a little window ledge to do the same thing! 🥰

FWIW, I'm also a hoarder, albeit other stuff. As a mechanic, there is lots I see that can be useful when building something. 2 years ago we moved about 20kms, and I got rid of a lot of "stuff", but not all of it. I've tried not to gather so much anymore, and decided to get rid of the stuff I haven't used in 2 years...though that part didn't happen yet. I haven't found a round-to-it for that yet. 😊

My humble opinion, hoarding is bad if you never end up making use of what you chose to save and it just ends up as waste. You have ideas and plans to make use of the wood, then make it happen. Thanks for taking us along again. Have a good week!
@Onlygloo
@Onlygloo Жыл бұрын
Allow me to disagree with that opinion. IMHO, what matters most is what you think you could do and the plans you make in your mind with all that stuff. All the things you can do will ultimately end up as waste anyway. It can be in ten years, a century or a millenia, that doesn't matter. The ideas you have, the things you're planning and the end result as you imagine it, that's what really matters because nothing will fail and that makes you happy. Your imagination is the thing that keeps you alive ; satisfying that imagination helps you keep it young and alive. It's only positive emotions that fuel your mental and body health. Make things happen is just a little bonus that will last only for a moment but great ideas and dreams will remain with you forever, until you finally die. My two cents! 😃

Well Michelle, being that most if not all of the North America is global boiling. There's only so much one can do with it being 42°C and above. Maybe instead pull the nails from the reclaimed, get stuff tidied up and shuffled too the cabin. Because once it cools down you'll be able too make stuff happen, true , true. Just about all of us are still here, after that long flight too Hong Kong, and getting all new shades of green on the open sea. Having too deal with the great Canadian barbecue, it's been quite a ordeal. So eventually the decks will get done, the siding and windows finished, flooring, and all these muskytoes will go away....😢 until then have a good week and God bless amen. 🌞😎⛱️👍✌️👋

Idea. have Steve build you a 20'x40' Pole Barn, you can horde all your supplies and keep them out of the weather. Just agree that once that building is full you'll have to get rid of some items to make room for new! Just an idea, for myself I have found that having a defined space to store all my "stuff" helps me better visualize how much or how little I've acquired. Both my Parents and In-Laws have passed away and we were tasked of going through their Estates, wow, lots of stuff for sure. Both the Wife & I vowed to keep everything organized so that our children will not be overburdened when the time comes for them to sort through our estate.

Hi 👋, Great content, your timber will always be useful, even if it’s just to make a chicken coop or some framework, so don’t throw it away, And if you get some more wood, you can always stuck it behind another pile, so nobody sees it to be on the back or something hidden away ha ha, And Pinetree, you see standing in the background will be useful to make something else make sure it’s usable, as we all know, the price of timber is escalating, and that is probably what you need at the side of your mountain, a pair of escalators one going up and one coming down ha ha, I thought I was struggling as I have approximately 46 to 48 treads in my stairs. Going from downstairs to upstairs. It’s certainly keeps you fit, splendid views, view to die for, And you’re very tame Chipmunk right at the end, just love being in the wilderness, I live in the Correze in France, And I have amazing wildlife around me as well, stay safe keep up the great work, Phil from the moulin
