I got to meet him for a meet and greet, really humble guy and stayed 2 hours late so that everyone outside got to meet him. He’s truly a happy and kind dude in person, my only regret when I met him was not paying an extra 20 dollars for a photo, I got my autograph and he added a custom quote (free of charge) but I understand why he couldn’t do a free photo seeing as others in line had tier badges and if I’d of gotten a free photo it wouldn’t of been fair for the others behind me who paid for it. If I ever get an opportunity to meet him again I’m going to go for the photo bundle with three autographs.

You're not alone man. I wasn't a wrestling fan in his era, but have seen plenty of clips and my friend got me into it shortly after. These guys are showmen and incredible at their art, and I absolutely love wrestling to this day. Its a shame that as kids we were just told "its all fake so what are you watching for?" Even if they hadn't put their bodies on the line, the stories were incredible. But these guys destroyed their bodies and pushed through that pain for an amazing show, its crazy to hear he was just willing to submit himself to a chance at going blind for the spectacle. What a legend.

The fact that he not only keeps shouting out his own kiddos, but chooses to eat vegan wings and drink almond milk almost purely for them and their beliefs is beyond beautiful. I'm from St James, Long Island, which is the town next to the town he grew up and lived. I worked at the King Kullen back in '98 and '99, and he would come into the store diving an old station wagon and wearing sweatpants. He was one of the nicest customers and really just wanted to go grocery shopping and be a regular dude, even though he was headlining matches at MSG. He was so cool and so nice. Just a great dude.

This was a lady who lived through the Great Depression, never wore a pair of pants a day in her life, and never learned how to drive. But she LOVED "wrasslin" in the 90s.
