I've always preferred this version. The OST version sounds sound as good in the transitions, and the ending is a massive cliffhanger, wheras this one builds up and delivers.

Well the thing is that one is the one for the gameplay because while you play the game it jumps to different parts of the song and transitions to different things based on gameplay. While this one is a song song like the ending of the ost i hear it as a start or in the middle of master levels🤣 then it goes to the hook again

The reason this sounds better is because this one is mixed so it makes sense, the other one is made to use as snippets when fighting in doom, it kinda goes back and forth in the song to fit whats happening. Here though, it actually flows.

Fantastic reaction mate! I'm extremely glad that you checked out this version and loved it! I would say that the main reason that this version is a lot better is the difference in how they were mixed. Mick mixed this version to be listened to on it's own as apposed to the game rip version that he mixed to be amongst all the other game audio whether that be environmental sounds, gun shots or the crushing of demon's skulls, so it was mixed in a way to not overshadow any of the other important audio parts of gameplay while still retaining it's core kickass nature. Hence why this version sounds a lot fuller and open compared to the game rip, with better structure and a few extra bits for the cherry on top. I would highly recommend that you check out more Mick mix's from the DOOM Eternal soundtrack or the DOOM 2016 sound track (which I think all available mixes are Mick's?). Any song you choose is bound to be great, however if you wanted a couple specifics, for DOOM Eternal, 'Meathook', 'Super Gore Nest' and 'Cultist Base' and for DOOM 2016, 'BFG Division', 'Rip and Tear' nd 'Rust, Dust and Guts' are all fantastic If you were interested in learning more about how Mick Gordon created and sculpted the soundtracks, then I would definitely recommend checking out this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/gZCmkIV8lpupb5I and there is also a great video out there where Mick himself explains the complex audio system that he created for both games that changed the audio on the fly, adding and changing different parts depending on what you were doing in game. But once again great reaction and can't wait for more!! #CHESTHAIR

That transition @4:17 is absolutely incredible. It takes the chromatic figure from before and completely sucks the air out of the room by changing the pad sound on the synth. Mick Gordon outdid his 2016 soundtrack with this one. It's such a damn shame we probably won't get a proper release, with good engineering. So bummed that it had to end up this way.
