I know three people who have all met Mick and they say that Mick was a right nice bloke and very kind to chat with. He is the real deal.

I met Mick at a gig in London. Did the whole 'you changed my life' bit and told him a really crap joke (I was quite pissed). He was really friendly and courteous. The true greats don't have to put on any front, that's why Kayne is such a twat

I love The Clash, but I adore Mick Jones, he has fragilty about his vocals and guitar playing which gives all he does authenticity and emotion

love this guy. love the clash. for the last month every night has been spent with headphones on, listening to Mick and Joe et al. in my ears. A punk band that transcended the genre. and for fucks sake, i am an old hippy who thinks The Clash is the only band that mattered/matters.

Mick is underrated: put on any Big Audio Dynamite album and you hear the same melodic and arranging/production talent and quality rock and roll lyrics you heard in the Clash. And that voice, as charming as Ray Davies'.

Unlike prats like Bono, Mick Jones still has his English teeth, wears no rug and his head hasn't disappeared up his own arse. If you like good music you should read Viv Albertine's book.

Mick was The Clash. Wrote the best songs and a superior musician/song writer compared to Joe Strummer.

Joe once said that Mick was `the brains behind the group`. He was great at arranging songs and he learned the production side quickly, but i don`t think you can say he `was The Clash`.

Check out the 101ers, Joe's band before the Clash with songs such as Letsagetabitarockin, Silent Telephone, Keys to Your Heart, Motor Boys Motor, and Sweety of the St Moritz. Those songs are as catchy as any Clash song and demonstrate Joe's ability to write great rock and roll.

I think the world of Mick Jones. But you’re wrong here. Mick was an amazing arranger of music great melodies. There’s a reason why Joe wrote most of the(lyrics) songs. Very unique lyricist. I believe the clash or a sum of all four parts. Joe and Mick together were my Lennon and McCartney my Jagger Richards.Mick is a massive talent.A gentlemen
